Yeah, just because an analyst isn't constantly blowing smoke up the C's doesn't mean he's biased.

I like Chris Webber mainly because he's a charismatic guy, I don't think he brings a lot as an analyst.

After what the Lakers did to him in his career. I highly doubt he is a fan.

He certainly was not Pro- Celtic in the finals last year.   Like I said he is decent as long as it not us vs. Lakers.   Not as bad as Mark Jackson who might as well be wearing a purple and gold tie.   

My favorite is probably Jeff Van Gundy.

JVG is great. The only problem is that he or his brother has a history with so many teams/players that I get the feeling he's pulling his punches sometimes, or overcompensating (he always seems a little too critical of the Magic, for example).

Chris Webber was on the 2002 Kings team that lost to the Lakers in the playoffs amidst, shall we say, questionable officiating.

I highly doubt that he could be a Lakers fan-- closeted or otherwise-- after that experience.

I agree with you but let's not forget that he was also on that Pistons team that lost to the Cs in 2008. That was the time when he kept saying "you can't take away my ring!" 

He wasn't on that team - he played for them at the end of the prior season but he was on Golden St for just a few games in 07-08.  He is from Detroit, though.

Also, just because someone doesn't share your opinion of the team you root for doesn't mean they secretly, or openly, hate your team or have biases. They may just see things differently. Everything isn't us/them, every critique doesn't make someone an enemy. The cult mentality of these things really irks me.

The thing is that a lot of these guys hear EVERY team's fans complain about how biased they are against them.  Hollinger has gotten to the point where he just says, "I despise all 30 teams equally and work very hard to make sure they don't get the credit they deserve."  It's a no-win.

I'm sure C-Webb does like the Pistons since he grew up with them, but he and the other ex-player analysts tend to call things like they see them.  Usually that won't be positive enough for fans of whatever team they're talking about.

He grew up a 80’s, 90’s Detroit fan… that might explain his slight distaste of the C’s.

But i don’t think that he holds back on giving Boston credit, that’s Barkley.

Both C-Web and McHale are hilarious, it was funny forget the wording but Mchale was talking about the different dimensions Lamar brings to the Lakers and the things he's accomplished so far - he's like yeah Lamar can say I won gold, got a couple championships, AND I got a Kardashian! ****
