He really is.  I'm up late watching the post 'Inside the NBA' after the Warriors' game, and his analysis of the Heat's problems is pretty incredible.  It's late, so I can't recap it right now.  But trust me, it was some really impressive insight.

Next time you're surfing channels and you come across EJ, McHale and C-Webb chatting it up on TNT, do yourself a favor and watch for a few minutes.  Webber will school you on at least 2 topics, I guarantee it.

Both McHale and C-Webb in the booth is my current non-Charles and Kenny tandem.

Jamal Mashburn is awesome too.

I enjoy McHale, (who loves to talk), and C-Webb much more than Kenny and Charles. (Can't stand Mash or Reggie).

Webber and McHale fit together perfectly IMO. I love when they’re explaining something in that “in-studio” basketball court, and they call out some of the guys from the set… only to bully them around on defense. It’s really hilarious stuff.

He is not bad but he doesn't always give the C's their due.  Closet Laker fan I suspect.

I don't think that's right.  He always praises the Celtics and he is a huge Rondo fan.

Yeah, just because an analyst isn't constantly blowing smoke up the C's doesn't mean he's biased.

I like Chris Webber mainly because he's a charismatic guy, I don't think he brings a lot as an analyst.

Im not sure of how often MetroGlobe has caught C-Webb over the last couple seasons but i have and don't agree completely with him.I feel C-Webb is getting better as he goes but it has been a process. How he delivers his analysis sometimes is a little overboard at times but ive gotten use to it.As far as his praises for one team to the next he is developing a similar way about which teams he favor just like all the rest of the media analysts, very flipfloppity.I felt both McHale&C-Webb were wrong in their assessments last season as to why the Celtics were(up/down)slumping.Both analysts used the age factor only over and over till it got sickening.Just as all the other analysts did once the C's made the post season both Webb&McHale changed their tune.Being xplayers they should have assess things differently than the average analysts.

The problem is that C. Webb and McHale are sooo on target that if teams (for example, the Heat) listen to them they may turn their season around sooner rather  than later,  :-\ .

He certainly was not Pro- Celtic in the finals last year.   Like I said he is decent as long as it not us vs. Lakers.   Not as bad as Mark Jackson who might as well be wearing a purple and gold tie.

My favorite is probably Jeff Van Gundy.

I disagree on 2 points:

1) The whole "they were wrong about the Celtics last season, so they aren't as good as I hoped" thing. Firmly believing the Celtics were good enough to take down Orlando, Cleveland, and take the Lakers to 7 games in the playoffs after watching the zombie shuffle that was the regular season is rationally untenable. Last season it was faith, not logic, that drove the Celtics fan, and C-Webb/McHale aren't supposed to run on faith. They were simply basing their explanations as the season wore on on what they were seeing.

2) I've seen a lot of C-Webb too, and if you're asking him to break down the X's and O's of a Kings/76'ers game, he's going to disappoint you. But if you're looking for player insight into what is going on on the court, he'll do his job well.

Chris Webber was on the 2002 Kings team that lost to the Lakers in the playoffs amidst, shall we say, questionable officiating.

I highly doubt that he could be a Lakers fan-- closeted or otherwise-- after that experience.

Since I watch through green-tinted glasses, sometimes I do wonder if he's biased against the Celtics. His insistence that Quentin Richardson was an innocent who did nothing wrong (and should not have been fined) in the Garnett incident in the first game of the playoffs last spring comes to mind.

But overall, I think he's a solid, entertaining analyst. He works well both with McHale and with EJ/Kenny/Charles when he gets called up to sit with the first team. TNT/NBA-TV knows how to pick 'em.

I agree him and Greg Anthony are really good analysts.  I'm really happy Greg Anthony is back from his stint in Siberia.

Even Dennis Scott isn't half bad.

They love the C's and rightfully so.

I don't think there was anything questionable about it. It was pretty obvious to me. I consider the Kings the champs from that year

I agree with you but let's not forget that he was also on that Pistons team that lost to the Cs in 2008. That was the time when he kept saying "you can't take away my ring!"  :)
