Lets also remember that the NBA is still a league run by players and agents, and there is none more powerful than Lebron James.  So, if he were ever to be traded, he is going to need to sign off on where he is going, because if he doesn't, his agent is going to make it very hard on the team that traded  him, and Lebron is going to not make it easy on the team that traded for him.

Yep.

LeBron = white elephant.

Yeah, not to rain on anybody's parade, but why are there so many proposed Lebron trades being talked about? If it's just for fun and people want to discuss it like a fantasy trade, okay. But people should realize he is absolutely 100% not gonna get traded by Miami, especially not in the next 2-3 years.

The Magic make out like bandits in this trade, and Miami is worse for it.

There is no bundle of guys you can throw at Miami to equal LeBron. You've got to build the trade around multiple all-stars or an All-NBA player with pieces to even come close to his value.
You would need to get Dwight Howard plus another all-star talent to get value for LeBron.

(All NBA big man plus all-star)

I think that's one of the cases where that might not be true.

Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant..those guys could be a 1 to 1 trade for LeBron, or 1 to 1 with picks..you don't need more talent to make that work IMO.
They are as famous but not as valuable. LeBron is just as young, for the most part, and also is a better player right now.

Durant, because he can still make another leap, and Howard (because he's a center) might be arguable to some.

But in my mind the gap between LeBron and everyone else is just too big.

Oh my, not discussing an idea because its unlikey to happen?

You haven't been in the trade/rumors section very long....

Relax guys, I don't think this trade would happen either, but really what team has the pieces for LeBron?  Dwight, Vince, and Lewis for LeBron might be equal value, but that's more than 3x LeBron's salary.  This is just a fun idea that would make Orl unstoppable, LeBron way happier, and give Miami some players that actually might be able to play together.

For the record I could care less about LeBron and trade ideas that make the Heat better.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

No matter what, trading anyone on a 1 for 1 (or close) basis involving LeBron right now is a net loss for the Heat, but it is a question about chemistry and fit here too.

For instance, I'd rather have Dwight Howard, Ryan Andersen, and Pietrus than LeBron and Dampier on this season's incarnation of the Heat.

Or, I'd rather have Durant and Collison.

Does Bosh, Lebron, or Wade have the "no trade clause" in their contracts?  Anyone know?

I wonder if they do, you would think they would after purposely signing up as super friends.

No, the only no-trade clause belongs to Kobe and Dirk, according to my understanding.

EDIT: Does Pierce have one too?

But Orlando and OKC are already built around Howard and Durant.  Do you really think they'd be willing to trade their stars of the future and risk their current chemistry?

LeBron is NEVER going to be traded!  Ever!

Unless he's on the verge of skipping town in 4 or 5 years from the Heat.  Outside of that, it's never going to happen.

I think yes in Orlando, no in OKC. OKC has a college-like atmosphere, and they seem to really relish the whole "we're better than just a 'professional' team of mercenaries" persona..Orlando though has the depth and the personnel (shooting/defending) to handle a trade like this.

Nelson, Gortat, and Pietrus for LeBron? You're right its not bad...Its downright horrendous.

There is no scenario in which Miami is going to trade LeBron. It really isnt even fun trying to think of a scenario because it is impossible. LeBron is going nowhere. He especially isnt coming to the Celtics, nor would I ever want him to come to the Celtics.

I think we are just a few days away from seeing a Lebron trade built around Scali.

I actually think this trade would be decent.

Nelson, Wade, Pietrus, Bosh, Gortat.

Duhon, Carter, Lebron, Lewis, Howard.

I don’t this this is a bad deal at all. AND i think The Heat would be better.
