Blake Griffin is just plain nasty. Amazing ball player and he's a flippin' rookie! Imagine this guy in his prime....oh man  :o
ROY hands down, no competition. MVP in a few years (God forbid any serious injuries), mark my words.

For anyone not yet familiar with the likely Rookie of the Year, here is a play by play of Griffin in last nights win over Chicago. Really gives you an idea of how good his passing and ball handling skills are.

Blake Griffin is ridiculous...

Can somebody link me to some stats of other rookies who have averaged 20 and 10?  I imagine the list must be rather impressive.

At this point, it's a big deal if Blake doesn't have a monster night.

Names include:

Elton Brand
Shaq
Tim Duncan
Alonzo Mourning
David Robinson
Hakeem Olajuwon
Kareem
Larry Bird
Wilt Chamberlain
Elgin Baylor
Oscar Robertson
Bob Pettit

Needless to say, Blake's in some special company at the moment, and I'd be very surprised if he didn't finish the year with similar numbers.

A few of the names on the list - Terry Cummings, Ralph Sampson, and of course Elton Brand - point to a concern with Griffin.  Those guys had their careers cut short / hindered by injuries.  Hopefully the same won't happen to Blake.

Has this guy done anything besides dunk and shoot layups?  I've never seen it.  Of course I only see the highlights so I'm not sure if he can do anything else.

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Actually, now he makes perfect sense.  It's funny, that.

He can go back to just being a basketball monster in my little head ..

Look like nice folks too.

He's got a decent midrange game.

I feel like a good chunk of those players pretty much raised their entire team during the rookie season while averaging those numbers. Bird, Shaq, Zo, Duncan, Brand come to mind. I'm sure with out even looking those other guys on the list for the most part completely changed the dynamics to their team.
Blake Griffin hasn't changed the identity of that Clippers team whatsoever. Just has been fun to watch

Actually just checked Brand's rookie season and they were horrible. But kind of different circumstances

Too bad his talent will rot in Clipperland.
