Rebound the ball.

They are Giving up positioning inside way too many times. You know 'The Pau Gasol', Get between the rim and the player. Easy put back. My Favorite Counter is 'The Joakim Noah' Push them off the position. Another reason why i love watching Joakim. He will fight you for everything even rebounds.

yea, they learned that if they had Perk they would be champions, so they got Perk insurance in Shaq and Jermaine. Not getting up for Toronto is no big deal.

Playing Davis/Semih together will lead to some nights like this. The bench only has one rebound in all of their minutes....

The C's learned, they're just missing two of their better rebounding bigs tonight.

what they learned was that the officials in game 7 (per king stern) ripped the title out of their hands and handed it to the lakers.

so this year, we make sure go into the playoffs healthy, including all of our new frontline players along with Perk, KG and Davis and be focused on pounding our opponents into dust on the boards, and  ................. don't let any series with orlando, miami or los angeles get close enough to give stern another opportunity to spin his black magic.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Really... Get over the fact that we lost the game because of poor fourth quarter play... Ridiculous.

It looks like we have no passion or hustle on the rebounds... On offense we take one shot and hope it goes in, on defense we are getting out hustled... I think when the full squad is healthy rebounding wont be an issue.

Aren't we 4th in the league in defensive rebound rate. We are not a bad rebounding team. Sure, we don't get many offensive boards, but out team doesn't actually go for many offensive rebounds. We try to stop the other team from breaking instead.

It is easy to tell them to box out, but sometimes guys get caught rotating as they challenge shooters.

Many great rebounders don't even box out much. They pursue the ball instead or catch it coming off the rim. Wasn't KG once the league's best rebounder without boxing out?

Tough to be a quality rebounding team with this lineup.

No Rondo means that the Celtics will be out-rebounded across the perimeter. Ray is a weak rebounder, Daniels is a weak rebounder and Pierce is a below average rebounder most of the time. Nate is an average rebounder. Von Wafer is a poor rebounder.

Then add in Glen Davis and Semih Erden who have both been very poor on the glass this season (6 boards per 36 is pathetic for big men) and suddenly there is far too much pressure on Shaq (limited minutes wise) and Garnett to keep the C's competitive on the glass.

Anyways ... it's just an injury related problem. Once Rondo, Perk and Jermaine come back, the Celtics will be one of the best rebounding teams in the league. Rondo plus one of those big men makes the Celtics a quality rebounding team. All three make them a lethal rebounding team.

Edit: Sorry, Rondo played against the Raps. I missed the game. I thought he was still out. With Rondo, but without the two injured big men, the Celtics will likely get out-rebounded by a small margin on average.

Baby Baby Baby, my Goodness, should KG yell at Baby again before you people get where these awful stretches come from? What is Erden got to do with this other than wearing Sheed's target so far this season. Nobody even noticed how well Nate played without Baby on the court with him. Hello? You play to win the...sorry I lost focus for a moment. And yes Baby came into a 13 point lead in the Final because Sheed tweaked his back. Did it work then so then why Doc would remind me every game this season is utterly cruel. Please don't be as stupid as Doc and Danny wondering, "I don't know what their problem is". Are you kidding me? As if Shaq with the starters never produced a 21 point lead earlier, right. Get a clue. Stop throwing others under the bus with Baby. He is the only culprit here.

Seriously? I didn't hear any complains in his typical night when his midrange jumper is going in. Late 2nd round pick who just scored 18 on a poor shooting night and he gets burned, really?

The Celtics do not value offensive rebounds over getting back on defense.  That's why the best defensive bigs rarely attack to offensive board unless they have great position.
