I think this just makes a legitimate argument for limiting Rondo's minutes... I don't want him sluggish in the playoffs and losing his effectiveness like he did somewhat in the finals.

I don't think there is any chance that Rondo is demoted to the bench when he returns to action. But Nate's play has brought relief to Celtics nation in that we have another PG who can fill in nicely when Rondo is on the bench (or injured). Perhaps this will result in a minor decrease in Rondo's minutes when he returns, though even that is up in the air.

Nate's role on this team has been important since the day he got here. He is not just instant offense like Eddie House, when he goes off he can be the #1 scorer on your unit. The key with Nate has always been aggressiveness. Obviously Nate & Rondo do different things better, but it makes no sense to take an all star PG, and arguably a top 3 PG, and send him to the bench.

I always thought Nate played better with more minutes, but a team with him playing more minutes was less likely to win.  That's his problem:  he's best as a starter on a losing team.

His challenge is to learn another way to play basketball, but it almost seems like a waste of his insane talent in a perverse way...losing teams need players too, and perhaps he should be on one of those teams?

;D The offense has never looked so good and the c's have never ran so fast. Robinson pushes the ball on just about every posession... Start nate and let Rondo finish!  :P

I doubt very seriously anyone of any consequence will say that.  In fact defensively alone they are much worse.  That's without getting into how the other players feed off of Rondo.  He makes all of the big 3 much better especially Ray.

I do like Nate though but, his defensive assignment normally scores at will.
