This guy is an abosulte waste of minutes. I havent seen someone pick up fouls at a rate that rivals Mikki Moore since...well, Mikki Moore.

Semih doesent jump, he has no offensive game to speak of, his defense is non existent, and he has less energy then the entire Celtics team in the 4th quarter last season.

This kid is 24? You would think he would make the most of his minutes in the NBA but he just looks like he doesent care, doesent want to play hard, and is slowly fitting the stereotype of the European basketball player.

Sorry, had to rant, im sure Luke would have done better at the 5.

Very few of Semih's fouls are actual fouls.  Much like the rest of our team.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I feel your frustration, but let’s not go crazy.  Has Semih been stellar? No. Serviceable? Yes

The entire team has been crappy the last two games, and your reaction to that is to bash Semih? C'mon, be fair.

If you had posted this after say, the first OKC game (the one we won, where he played well), then I'd say, okay - that's how you feel.

Keep things in perspective. When (if?) we're injury free, he's the 5th big, and he's only off the bench in garbage time, or to take a few hits. So far, in the majority of his games he's been quite good. Based on that fact, and adding to that, that he's probably going to take a few months, perhaps even a year, in order to fit in properly, and learn the language, I think it's a pretty good situation.

He's looking a bit clumsy out there, but what rookie doesn't? I can't recall many, especially not any 60th pick rookies!

And what stereotype is that?

Your right I may have overreacted, but when I see Harangody out there, he hustles, he runs, he tires. Semih just looks old out there and hes only 24. I realize hes a rookie and hes only playing because JO and Perk are out, but it would be inspiring to watch someone who has the gift of being 7'0 tall display "fake hustle" if anything at least. The guy just doesent look like he wants to play in this league.

I am not going to bash Semih, but he certainly is not an NBA-ready player. Unfortunately, the Celts have no one else and are stuck. I don't even want to think of what the Hawks' front line is going to do tomorrow night when he is in the game.

Its tempting for me to watch the game tommorow night, but I would have to prepare myself for the worst. Ever watch a blowout game that was just so one-sided you sat there with a smile on your face laughing because of how bad your team was doing?

Not saying Celtics will lose tommorow, but their play isnt making me optimistic.

Well, "soft" is what they used to call Gasol. Now, not so much... Also, do you think Bargnani and Calderon played "soft" today? Give Semih a chance, he'll come around.

Semih's shoulder is injured, a shoulder he needs surgery on. How does he gets blamed, he's the 4th center. Hey he ain't Patrick O'Bryant or Mikki Moore. I like him, he deserves more time. He isn't the worst player on the team.

What do you expect from a late, late second round pick?  Chances were slim when the C's drafted him that they found the next great NBA center.  The guy is good enough to get a few points, a few rebounds, a block, etc.  For his first official NBA season, I haven't been let down.  He's playing his part just fine in my opinion.

And I agree with a previous poster, he is being expected to shoulder a slightly heavier load at this current stage of the game due to the injury bug that recently bit our group of bigs.  Once everything is fully intact, he will get back to his normal roster status.

Agreed.  He is supposed to be on the inactive list, but injuries have him playing here.  When Jermaine is healthy Semih's minutes should disappear.
