If Perk doesn't come back healthy and effective or JO or Shaq continue to be off and on health-wise then you have to keep him.
This, I disagree with.
JO-I have no faith in his health or availability at any time, including playoffs, and would actively try to deal him. Shaq, at his age, is perhaps a question mark, and Perk as well due to coming off injury.
That means we either have an abundance of size at Center, or nobody...somewhere between abundance and nobody is where we're at at the 5.
Some say BBD is our most reliable big, but he is barely a PF, and is surely does not have adequate size at the center spot (horizontally, perhaps, but not vertically).
So BBD is not, IMO, the answer for a reliable big because he is too undersized. Also, no blocks...we need a big that can block shots.
Note that, despite significantly more minutes this year, his per-36 rebounds are down. His per-36 blocks are 0.3, which is quite horrible for a big guy.
I would be activly looking to move him (and JO, VW too) for an upgrade. Combined, BBD, JO, and VW make about $9.5, which could return 125%+$100K or about $11.975 in salary. Is there a player (or combination) out there available in trade in that range who would be an upgrade? I surely would expect so.
