With Delonte in the fold and (hopefully) available on a regular basis and Avery Bradley in the wings...

And with JO's availability consistently inconsistent...

And with BBD still projected as a career backup/hustle-guy...

And with the C's being well advised to secure the best players possible past 2012, as the NBA is likely to still exist and championships will still be there to be won,

Does this make any sense on Dec. 15th?

PG rotation of Rondo/West with A.Bradley/Smokey Q in crisis situations?
Wing rotation of Ray, Paul, Iggy, and Smokey Q
Big rotation of KG and Shaq starting, with a platoon of Battie, Erden, Perk when he comes back, and whomever else they could sign for depth?

What about if Dampier decided to come to Boston to fill out the big rotation?

What if we threw in a 1st rounder (maybe a 2nd as well) and took Speights, too?

For those 3 Boston guys, I would prefer for Beasley and Corey Brewer. Youth, athleticism and talent are there and they could yet be our future core.

they've already got Lou Williams and Jrue Holliday so the need for Nate isn't really there. BBD and JO help their big man rotation, but not enough to expend Igoudala. If he was available in what's essentially a dump, he'd be in Nola right now.

Not enough minutes for PP and AI to share, and it makes our team too small.

I also don't see a team like the Sixers wanting to take a guy like JON.

Why do people think BBD and JO have such trade value?

I'm telling you, right now, JO has 0% trade value.  BBD wouldn't net us much.  BBD only has value on a contending team with lots of potent offensive options around him.  Put him on a bad team and he'd be real bad.

Wow.  I can't believe people are ready to trust Delonte.  How do you know he doesn't take his meds again?  You don't.  Must keep Nate in the fold.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

IF planning for the future puts today's success in jeopardy, then what's the point? Nothing in the future is guaranteed. Not to sound like an existentialist, but live in the now.

A nice addition to this blog would be a BBD trade forum.

I'm not the biggest AI fan because he appears to have a lot of talent but, not very much production to go along with it.  The Sixers would probably want a bit more than that.  BBD is more valuable to this team than AI would be anyway.  I would hope (they aren't going to trade him) if they did move him they got a big who could actually play in return.

Only on celticsblog is BBDs career established as backup/hustle guy.

Wow, the trade ideas are coming fast and furious right now.  Is everyone already bored with the regular season?

As for this trade, Philly would have zero interest in it.  They give up the best player, and don't get assets or immediate salary relief.

I like our team as is.  Sure maybe the Celts will need to add a piece latter, but they are 8-2 with no Big Perk, half a Shaq, 1/4 JO, and no Delonte West.

No need to trade in my mind, but that could change with an injury.

Don't you think Philly could do better?

Why take such a big step backwards at the 4/5 so the Celtics could get a fringe all-star to backup two future hall-of-famers?
