Seriously, Ray is balling. When he raises up for 3, i feel like it's automatic. I haven't had that feeling since his Seattle days.

Wait til he gets to the postseason and basically vanishes off the roster :-X

Didn't people want to see him traded for a Reddick or a Korver only three months ago?
Never stop believing baby~

Some people wanted to see him traded for Kevin Martin or possibly Caron Butler at the deadline. I recall people wanting to get Reddick with our MLE, but that's about it.

Ray looks like he doesn't age... or even gets better with age. Amazing.

Or who exploded for that 51 pt game VS CHI in the playoffs in 08-09?

Ray Allen has not only turned back the clock...he has turned it off. I love the way he is playing right now, especially in that it is complementing the other Celtics.

He looked great the other night, but I think a lot of that also had to do with Miami's lack of effort in fighting through screens.

With Regards to Ray, I'll believe the whole "clock" thing once he finally puts together consistency in the playoffs and nba finals.  I'm not going to easily forget how atrocious he was from games 3 through 7 in the finals, regardless of his leg cramp or whatever.

As far as Ray shooting poorly in the finals after his 8 three pointer game, it was clearly obvious to me that he was injured. He got his shot blocked i think, twice in a row by Pau Gasol on 3 point attempts. Ray has one of the quickest releases in the league, and elevates pretty high for his shot. So for him to get not one, but TWO shots blocked in a row was an obvious sign that he was injured.

Everyone was banged up that series, but they played at least well enough to win... except Ray.  Ray was atrocious the last FIVE games of the NBA finals.

I'm not even isolating it to that.  Go back to the championship playoffs and you should recall that Ray almost cost the Celtics in every series, including the Detroit series.  The only true great game he had in those playoffs was in the blowout win over the Lakers.  It's easy to make jumpers when you're up by 30.

Listen, I like the guy, and think he's playing great this year.  I have high hopes for him and the Celtics, and couldn't be happier that he came back this year.  But it still doesn't wipe away his plethora of playoff woes.

Ray's shooting great right now, but the past few seasons have instructed us not to count on him for offense every night.  Happily, once D-West enters the line-up and offers some additional scoring punch at the back-up guard spot, I think we'll be able to weather the inevitable Ray cold streaks much better.

Don't wipe away his successes either.  The man has won us many a playoff game.

You're misremembering.  Starting in Game 5 in Detroit, Ray scored at least 16 in each game (with games of 25, 26, and 29 points), and he shot 50% or above in 6 out of 8 games.

Last year against the Lakers, Ray lost his 3 point shot (with the exception of Game 2), but he played excellent defense on Kobe.  Also, in Games 5 and 6, Ray played well enough for the team to win.

Ray was terrible in Games 3 and 7, but overall, he had a solid playoffs (finishing as the Celts' second leading scorer.)
