I don't think they should. It would be a huge risk and they would'nt have any quality size besides Pau,right? I heard a couple co-workers saying Atlanta would love to have Bynum so they could move Al Horford over to PF.

DARNIT! Anyone think a deal with Josh Smith as the main guy would be possible?

I know there were some rumors floating around last season about TOR doing a trade with LA (Bynum for Bosh). Not sure if it got any traction, though.

I do know that Bynum changes the dynamics of LA's squad, though. LA is more mobile with Lamar in there, and with most teams they can get away with Gasol and Odom up front.

With the PT that Lamar is getting right now, he may not be too keen to going back to the bench once Bynum gets well, and if Phil decides to keep Bynum on the bench I'm sure he won't be happy with that, either.

Phil's the Zen Meister, he'll figure it out.

No chance the Lakers give up Bynum for Josh Smith.

The Hawks are not able to make a suitable trade proposal for Bynum. It would take a top 10-15 type talent for LA to even consider parting with Bynum.

They'll be very reluctant to give up on such a talented young seven footer + to break up the core to a two time defending Championship squad.

If the Lakers would demand a 10-15 talent for Bynum, then I think that would be a huge mistake. He is always injured, yet still has a stellar reputation. L.A seems to play just fine without him and if they can get a really solid piece in a trade, then they should consider it - you know, before he becomes injured and untradeable forever.

The one hope that LA doesn't cash in big on Bynum (i thought they'd make a play for Bosh and perhaps Melo using Bynum as bait) is that the price will be high AND the buyer knows they'll be taking a rather large risk.

For the right deal, LA would trade anyone besides Kobe.

I'd be very tempted to trade Bynum. He hasn't played a full season really yet and he is getting paid very handsomely. If they could get someone like J smith or another all-star I think it could be a smart move depending on the player. As good as Bynum is when he is healthy it just seems risky to keep such an injury prone player especially a big man.

The only reason I would hesitate is because it's not like he has been holding them back and he showed flashes of dominance in the playoffs last year even on one leg.

Not to mention how soft the Lakers bigs would be. They don't win that game 7 without Bynum last year, even with us missing Perk. Bynum was dominant on the boards and down low for the majority of that series.

Sure they would add more offensive talent if they traded him for J-Smoove (IMO), but I would just love it if they added another perimeter big.

Bynum wasn't at all, he was effective for only a few games that series.

Pau Gasol did most of the damage.

But when he's healthy he takes them to another level defensively. Odom off the bench is a huge advantage.

I wouldn't offer Glen Davis for him.  Whatever the offer is you have to cut it in half because he's hurt half the time

Some team would give the Lakers an oversized offer for a young seven footer like Bynum, I'm sure.

I think Bynum benefits quite a lot from having such talented players around him, and he's obviously injured a lot of the time.  Put him on a bad team and he's not that great.

Josh Smith is a much more valuable player than Bynum.  It would totally suck if the Lakers got a hold of him.

I disagree. The Lakers look great without him in certain matchups, but they can win without him in other matchups. Since they do not know who they will play in the playoffs, they should keep him.

LA needs Bynum to beat Boston. Without him, we win. With him, they are favored.
