I think we saw it in that Bucks game guys and it was a nice sight to see!  :P

It sure didn't show up in the rebounding last night, but perhaps it had something to do with the back to back games.

It certainly showed on that throw down over Bogut. I havent seen him make a dunk like that in a long long time. He usually clanks it off the bank rim. It was nice to see that go down...

And what is with all this crap about bad rebounding? Rebounding is the least of our worries this season and that has showed. Many of the Bucks put backs on the offensive glass came when Baby or Oneal switched to guard Jennings and Rondo was left to guard Bogut who could easily get the rebound over him. We need to address issues like pick and roll defense more than rebounding.

KG is back.  I was kind of skeptical that he would come back to this level, but it's a beautiful thing.  He looks like he did in our championship year.

Because 8 rebounds to lead the team is such an awful number....

I'd say its somewhere in between where it was last year and the year before.

The dunk was thunderous, but I don't think I've seen him convert an alleyoop for a dunk yet. I'm quite pleased with where is, but I don't think he's all that close to the leaping ability he once had.

He's OBVIOUSLY way better than last season - we hopefully won't see him getting stuffed by the rim anytime soon (stay in South Beach, injury bug)!

He definitely doesn't quite look like he did in our championship year, and he probably never will look that way again.

But compared to that year, I'd say maybe 85%, which is certainly good enough to win a championship, just maybe not in the dominating way we did previously.

TP. Rondo was having trouble keeping Jennings in front of him all game, especially when they were playing the pick and roll game with Bogut. That caused a breakdown in the D and rebounding.

Regarding KG's explosiveness. Yes it is back. He doesnt have the same freakish athleticism but he has confidence in his legs to be a powerful player. Much different than last year. The fact that he did it in the 4th quarter on the 2nd night of a back to back is also very encouraging.

I wouldnt mind a blowout friday to give him and Pierce a rest though.

I didn't see this, what I saw was Bogut setting high picks on Rondo. BBD, Semih, and Jermaine didn't want to come out and hedge that far from the hoop so they were forced to slide to prevent Jennings from gettting to the paint. The bigs have to give some sort of help in that situation!

Rondo hounded Jennings and kept him from having much of an impact on the game.

I missed part of the second half but I didn't see this at all. Jennings would try and fail to get past Rondo, sometimes getting backed up 10 feet or so behind the 3 point line in the process, and have to call for a pick to get anywhere. Rondo did a great job of taking him out of the game when I was watching.

Well, it's back more than it was at this time last year, that's for sure.

Players, especially older ones, don't usually recover fully from serious knee injuries until the second season back.  It's as much psychological as physical too.  I think that's what we're seeing from KG right now.

I just hope he can look this good in May and June too.

Pierce looks good too, but got worn down as the year went on.

Lets see how they both hold up.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Yes, it looks like it's back and it has me really excited. It's about time someone started a thread pointing this out. And the fact that last night was his worse rebounding game all season isn't all to bad considering he pulled down 8 boards. I remember last year where he'd go through an entire game struggling to make it to 4. Last year he was either scoring or rebounding this year he's doing it simultaneously again. I hope he continues to get better.

Come on. KG is not the explosive guy he was like during the championship year. He is healthy and two years older. He's where he should be at this stage. All of the big 3 have lost a little bit requiring Rondo to improve to keep us as a serious contender. The Celtics NEED Rondo to be this great.Rondo creates so much easy offense for everyone. If we didn't have a top 3 or 4 point guard i think KG would struggle somewhat on the offensive end. He's a jump shooter more and more now. Luckily he's a freaking awesome jump shooter! But this whole explosiveness talk is something that people just repeat and repeat and people start just believing it's true.
