In your opinion, what team could the NBA do without if they had to eliminate one team?

In terms of fan support, Memphis.

In terms of sheer "meh"ness, Toronto.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Pick 2: Bobcats, Grizzlies, Raptors, Kings

Personally I go Bobcats-Grizzlies.

I say the Bucks, I think they are on the up swing and I really like Jennings, but there isn't really a lot of support for the team. Put it this way, does any of you know, or have ever met a Bucks fan? That team could vanish and most NBA fans wouldn't even notice.

There are a lot of teams out where I haven't met a supporter of.

I don't know for sure but it seemed like they had very good fan support last year

Atlanta.

Just not a good sports town.  The fans only show up in the playoffs if the team looks like it might have a chance.

Miami before this year........ those fans have never shown up for the playoffs from the zo years to now. I'm still not convinced that they will show up this year either.

GRizz - Raptors

I like the bobcats, and i think thier fan base is still evolving. The other two are just horrible basketball towns.

Toronto's always been a really good city in terms of fan support.  You don't really blame the folks for "meh-ness" after the team they've had to root for these past couple years, but it's definitely a good city for the NBA.

Memphis, though.  Ugh.  Contract them, we'll lose one of the league's worst owners and worst GMs.  They'll be about eight people, total, who'll be p---ed off and four of those are in Chris Wallace's family.  It's not a big market, it's a great market for college hoops but with seemingly little desire to embrace the NBA product.  That's the most glaring example if the league ever DOES contract, or wants to put a team in Vegas.

Atlanta has historically been a pretty good NBA town, back in the day, but they don't seem to embrace the current team even when they've played pretty good ball.  It's still a city that's proven it can support an NBA franchise.

They're a good fanbase.  They get behind their team.

Plus, they have a pretty good history.  Go back to the 70s & 80s.  They were a solid organization and some of the players to come through that team were no slouches;  Kareem, Oscar, Sidney Moncrief, Terry Cummings, even our boy Ray Allen.

If I had to choose two teams to get rid of, I'd go Memphis & Toronto.

agree, last year i went to the Celtics-clippers game in LA. i think there was just as many Celtics fans in the crowed as clippers fans.
