From boston.com:

“I think it’s because Doc didn’t know if I was going to practice,’’ he said.
O’Neal said his role so far isn’t what he’s used to. “I’m not asked to play the scorer, I have to get used to just running to the boards, trying to block shots, playing defense, that’s my job,’’ he said. “And getting used to that, mentally locking in, is something I’m ready to do.
“But I can’t do my job if I’m not on the court. Fifteen years in the league, and there’s going to be things that happen, not only to myself, but to Shaq and the older guys, and we’re just going to have to figure out a way to get better, stay healthy, so we can have a good team.
“I felt pretty good. My confidence level is probably at an all-time low. It’s been rough, to be honest. I’m not going to lie. I’m disappointed, very much so."
I daresay most Celtics fans are disappointed as well - and quotes like these aren't going to help. In effect, he's complaining that he's not being asked to score?
He should be happy he got the full MLE and just buckle down and try to earn it!
