They played hard defense the entire night even though it made it easier on them that anyone not named Baby, Shaq or Rondo refused to take a shot inside the paint unless on a break. I think they were deserving of the gift that the Celtics and the refs co purchased them.
Anytime Rondo was not the one running the offense things went wrong. KG or Paul at the top of the key starting it = turnover or missed jumper. Among my other complaints are going under screens when shooters have the ball. Finally, there was a lack of an effort to get the ball to a player posting up. Since Shaq was the only one actually trying to post up, I say we get him the ball.
Everyone has mentioned the 3 by Parker but that wasn't the only problem I had with the refs. Nate's tech was outrageous. Jermaine looked like he was being picked on by the refs. Varejao flopping all over the place and drawing calls and fouling the Boston rebounder while trying to strip the ball after almost every rebound.
So I'd say the Cavs defense, the Celtics poor play and the refs all contributed to the Cavs deserving it more.
