I think '1/4 of the talent' might even be a big generous.  Regardless, you're right - they came to play, they busted it all night, and we didn't.  It's as simple as that.

Well, I think they got a lot of undeserved breaks by the refs, BUT the Celtics let them hang around, allowing the refs to have an impact in the game.

I agree that the Cavs deserved that win.  They played with a lot of heart and I also agree that they did get some help from the refs but the refs weren't why the Cavs won.  They simply wanted it more than the Celtics did.  I'm usually upset after a loss but I didn't mind losing to the Cavs in their opener. Cavs fans needed that win so much more than we did after their off season.

I am mired in my post-loss mini depression, but I agree.

It appears that this club and Byron Scott are trying to give their fans something to rally around.  That looked like some serious overachieving going on last night, but it was backed up by hustle.  And frankly I approve of that, especially given "The Decision."

We are an old team and back to back games will be our achilles heel all year.  I like it as it makes LeBron look like a bigger tool.

I agree with all above.  The win against Miami means a lot more to me than the loss to Cleveland does.  I am glad Cleveland has something to cheer about...their fans need something to rally around and team hustle seems like a good place to start...

JO has not played for a couple weeks, until last night.  Hopefully all he needs is to get the rust off.  The Celtics will be fine.

p.s. to the refs & Stern:  You doing your best to lose me as a fan of the NBA... and I guess it is about time you did your "best" at something.  (Sarcasm is dripping off my fingertips like venom off a cobra's fangs.)

This is the correct answer.  All Cleveland had to do to beat the Celtics was ditch that loser.  :)

They played hard defense the entire night even though it made it easier on them that anyone not named Baby, Shaq or Rondo refused to take a shot inside the paint unless on a break. I think they were deserving of the gift that the Celtics and the refs co purchased them.

Anytime Rondo was not the one running the offense things went wrong. KG or Paul at the top of the key starting it = turnover or missed jumper. Among my other complaints are going under screens when shooters have the ball. Finally, there was a lack of an effort to get the ball to a player posting up. Since Shaq was the only one actually trying to post up, I say we get him the ball.

Everyone has mentioned the 3 by Parker but that wasn't the only problem I had with the refs. Nate's tech was outrageous. Jermaine looked like he was being picked on by the refs. Varejao flopping all over the place and drawing calls and fouling the Boston rebounder while trying to strip the ball after almost every rebound.

So I'd say the Cavs defense, the Celtics poor play and the refs all contributed to the Cavs deserving it more.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I wouldn't be shocked if Cleveland squeaks into the playoffs.

Cleveland-Miami in the first round of the playoffs could potentially be fun to watch.

I was impressed with the Cavs. They are clearly more team oriented now.  Very athletic too. You can tell how Lebron, as great as he is, can cause team mates to stand by and watch.  Byron Scott has done a terrific job preparing this new Cavs team. I hope they make the play-offs and defeat the Heat in the first round!!

I think everyone who says the Cavs will barely win 20 games is seriously underestimating them.  I think they could very well get to the 7 or 8 seed.  They were well-prepared and kept attacking til they wore us down.

Especially if the play Sessions ahead of Mo Williams. Though Mo needs to play ahead of Gibson.

I like Sessions.

the loss doesnt surprise me.

ever since our big 3 got together, we've seemed to struggle against the young athletic teams (see atlanta hawks). we just don't have the spring in us to keep up with them.

i really hope they make it to the playoffs and get a first round matchup with the heat. i mean if the refs were helping them last night, they might as well help them enough thru the season to ensure they play the heat in the first round. you know david stern would love for that one to work out.

how good of a ballhandler/playmaker is dwest? we need somebody in there that can get the job done when rondo is out. we can run rondo to the ground with 40+ minutes per night during the season.
