Well. We can now strap in and prepare for the roller coaster effort that we saw last year in the regular season. All you had to do was look at Pierce's face all game to know that he was bored. This blog is going to go crazy all year if they come out and fail to give the effort needed to win close games against mediocre teams. Then comes out the ref card, the turnover card, etc.

If the starters don't have the desire to come out and give that effort then they need to play a lot less minutes. Rondo went from hero to goat as usual in one game. Take it seriously out there guys or let the guys on the bench come out and play. Why did I pay for NBA League Pass again?!

I am afraid to comment in this thread other than to say I hope they give a better effort at home this year than last

I don't think it will happen as often this year as last season.

I also think they'll have much more insurance against nights like this once Delonte West comes back. He adds a lot of quality and stability to that second unit (depth being the difference this year vs last).

Crazy? Nah. I think the key word is apathetic. This looks like the same Celtics team we had last season. So what we are going to get around here is "wake me up when the playoffs start!"

I agree on the Delonte part. 8 more games to go. I can't see it happening less than last year though since we are only 2 games in and they are already bored. We won 8 of the first 9 last year and most of those were big margins. Have some Celtic Pride!

I'm sure that is what is in the Celtics team business plan. "We want our most die-hard fans to be APATHETIC during the season". Good adjective Jsaad…

Plus Jermaine was a huge huge negative tonight. He'll get better as he gets back into things.

Wafter was also bad, once West comes back he's going to be glued to the bench.

The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

A chance to what? Decide that they are grown up enough to come out and give some effort like they did last night? (At least the first half and last few minutes)

How could you possibly watch them go out there and not even try and then turn it around on the fans being upset that they refuse to give it their all? You're sure easy to please. I pay a lot of money and time in support of this squad and although I don't expect them to win every night, I do expect them to make a small effort to earn their paycheck. PP just made 169k for that complete waste of our time...

I think you have too high of expectations for effort, I mean you've seen this team the past year and half right?

They're not the same team that went balls out the first year and a half KG got here.

I don't think it's them not giving effort, but their body not allowing them too. At least for the starters they simply look gassed from yesterday.

I hope you are wrong. While last night's game probably took a little more out of the starters than a normal regular season game would, they still should not be tired in the second game of the season. What I saw tonight was a lack of focus and not digging in on defense. That is why they lost.
