To me the Heat are going to be a great team.  Very tough to beat.  However, they won't be good enough to win it all for a good long while, even longer if Portland or Ok. City get their final pieces for the post-Kobe era.

The Heat would be much scarier if they traded either D. Wade or Lebron for something along the lines of equal value.

For example, if Lebron could be swapped for Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza (plus?), then I'd be really really scared of the Heat.  Or, if Wade, Joel Anthony and Chalmers could be swapped for Lopez, Devin Harris and Outlaw, then I'd be much more nervous.  Maybe my examples suck, but if you could get back equal talent at key positions for either one of Wade or Lebron, the Heat would be a better team imo.....

Lopez, Bosh, Lebron, Mike Miller, Devin Harris
J. Anthony, Bosh, Mike Miller, Wade, Chris Paul

Well, I'm hoping the Heat keep their new big 3 together....because I don't see them taking down the Celtics until the Celtics next transition phase begins, post big 3.  Various trade ideas would make them scarier imo.....

Keep all three.

Sign Dampier to get some size.  Start House at PG and let Lebron run the offense.

I don't think there is any need to re-do their roster. Maybe they aren't perfectly fit together now but at some point during the time all 3 are signed to a contract they will get the correct pieces around them (a pass first pg and tough big men).
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

"re-do the Heat, make them better"

Why?  Why do we want them to get better? ???

I like them just the way they are. ;D

Sign Dampier to get some size.  Start House at PG and let Lebron run the offense.

House was repeatedly abused on defense by Rondo for buckets in that game. I just don't have faith that he can repeat his first two years in Boston at his age.

I think they need to see if Chalmers can give them what they need as soon as his ankle his healthy.

True, but offensively, he makes them better.

Plus most other teams do not have Rondo.    ;D

It is interesting that the Heat were at their best when Big Z was on the floor.

Whether it was Lebron and him have chemistry or his size and shooting opened the defense up more, not sure.

I'm shocked they didn't sign Dampier.  It seemed like a no brainer... I guess not.

Magloire is such a more useful big man.    ::)

They went on their big run with him on the floor, I think his chemistry with LeBron helped in that run. Plus IIRC Big Z was in while KG was out most of the time. So the C's had a relatively inferior defensive unit too.

I think Dampier wants to start and won't be happy on the bench.

That's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

I would start him as well.   Joel Anthony is at best, a 2nd center on a good team.

He should be starting for the Heat.  His toughness is the perfect compliment to Bosh.  Plus he plays defense and doesn't need the ball.  I think they really screwed up by not signing him.

I would be very reluctant to split up Wade and LeBron. Those two are going to be fantastic together.

Miami should have signed Dampier -- they might still, could change their minds after last night -- but I would still start Joel Anthony the majority of the time. I'd bring Dampier in against certain matchups like against Shaq but most of the time I think Anthony's mobility defensively is a better fit for what they want to do with their team defense. Use Dampier as a fourth big in the rotation playing 15-20mpg as a reserve.

Miami should have signed Delonte West. Their offense would be much tougher with him at the point. Especially due to his shooting ability. That was a mistake ... like it was a mistake that Atlanta, LA Lakers and Portland passed up on him when they should have signed him and made him their starting PG.

Delonte West + Eric Dampier = missed the boat on two guys who could have been very valuable role players and significantly boosted their supporting cast.

Delonte could have gotten 35 minutes a game as Miami's starting PG. A huge difference maker. Chalmers as the backup. That is a strong 1-2 punch at the point (role player wise) when you have wings like Wade and LeBron.

If I was going to re-do the Heat, I would have never gotten Bosh.

Instead, sign Miker Miller and Udonis Haslem as the core of the bench.  The go out and spend Bosh's money to get Raymond Felton at PG, Brad Miller at center and 2 or 3 of the following players...

Tyrus Thomas, Hakim Warrick, Shelden Williams, Craig Smith, Kwame Brown and Louis Amundson.

Thrown in James Jones as a 4th wing, Arroyo as back-up PG and maybe go after Tony Allen.

True, that team wouldn't look as good on paper, but it would have much more clearly defined roles and I think better on court chemistry.
