There are few guys in the NBA that are always going beyond the norm, and always fun to watch ... Ellis is one of them, and one of my non-Celtic favorites.

I agree.  I love watching Monta Ellis.  He's even playing a little D tonight - I was impressed with the way he fought off JRich in the post once in the third quarter.

Curry, on the other hand, sticks to every screen you set on him.

The Harvard kid, Jeremy Lin, would be a pretty good defender on any other team.  The effort is there, but he needs to learn not to go under screens against good shooters like Dragic.  The GS bigs provide no help defense at all, though - Lin basically has to deal with the pick and roll by himself, and that's tough.

Very young team, and their immaturity gets them into trouble, but Golden State has some great pieces to develop, and will be one of the teams of the not-too-distant future.

I don't know.  Curry's better than he played tonight, and Ellis is electrifying, but I've always felt that David Lee is better on paper than he is on the court - he doesn't know or care how to play defense.

I think they are who they are - they're a dangerous team who can randomly get white-hot and beat anybody on any given night, and they're a nightmare for tired teams on the second night of a back-to-back, but ultimately their lack of defense will keep them from winning many games.  I think their biggest need is a shotblocking, defensive-minded big who can run a little bit.  I wonder if there's any way they could land Thabeet from Memphis.  It's a big gamble, but if he pans out, he could go a long way toward hiding the deficiencies of Curry and Lee, and he could turn them into a legitimate playoff threat if not a true contender.

Golden State is a nothing team. Their core isn't capable of becoming a top side in the NBA.

Not with that undersized backcourt and starting big men who don't play defense.

They need to choose one of Curry or Monta and build a team around them. Bring in a proper two guard who can play two way basketball. Also, shop Biedrins and bring in a center who can actually play defense. Do those two things and they'll have an opportunity to build a very good team.

You mean David Lee as your best defensive big man isn't a formula for winning!  I'm shocked  ;).

These Denver announcers make me appreciate Mike and Tommy that much more.  Just dreadful.

I hate to say it, but the Lakers FO made a great decision when they drafted Caracter with the 58th pick.  He was a good get.

This Kings team is absolutely brutal.

Clippers-Blazers game has gotten emotional and ugly.  Brian Cook and Craig Smith both tossed, Cook with a Flagrant 2 to Przybilla and Smith for reacting angrily to a foul by Fernandez.

EDIT:  Camby with a flagrant 1 for a shot to the head of Griffin.  Wow.

Darko Milicic is leading the league in blocked shots per game (2.7) and total blocks (57) while only playing 26.4 minutes a night. Fairly impressive.

Minnesota could be a pretty decent defensive team with Darko as their anchor if they played their natural wing players (C.Brewer, W.Johnson and M.Webster) instead of force feeding Beasley minutes at the three.

Anybody watching this Doozer

71 - 65 Clippers after 3. This is a fun little game to watch. Shannon Brown, the LAL outside threat hit a 60 ft bzzer beater.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
