This is why I want the Celtics to have the #1 seed.

There's going to be a war between two of the three (BOS, MIA, CHI) in the second round of the eastern playoffs.  I'd rather not be involved in that one.

Let MIA-CHI duke it out and come into the ECF exhausted.

Chicago are a better team than San Antonio.

(1) Boston
(2) Miami
(3) LA Lakers
(4) Dallas Mavericks (with Caron Butler)
(5) Chicago Bulls
(6) San Antonio Spurs

Hmm ... probably the Denver Nuggets in seventh place. Then Orlando and Oklahoma.

I don't really disagree, but why do you think the Spurs are so much less than what their record would indicate?
Not convinced of their defensive quality or of the overall quality of their big men outside of Tim Duncan. Also dislike their lack of a backup SF.

I do love their backcourt though. RJ and Duncan are having nice seasons too.

This Bulls team has its occasional hiccups but they've been developing into a very dangerous basketball team as the season has progressed.

It'll be interested to see how things go once Noah is reintegrated into that lineup.

San Antonio should win this as the game progresses.

Too much offense for Chicago to handle over the whole game. Without Noah, the Bulls don't have enough quality to combat that explosive scoring.

I thought Chicago was the better team  ;D?  Lol... even though I tend to disagree.  I think the Spurs r the third best team in the league behind us and LA.
Chicago with Joakim Noah is a better team than San Antonio.

Chicago without Joakim Noah is a worse team than San Antonio.

Amazing how good the Bulls D has been without Joakim Noah.  Very irritating how much they are getting out of Kurt Thomas when we've gotten so little out of the much higher-priced Jermaine O'Neal.
Thibodeau is having a huge impact on the Bulls defense ... Skiles-esque.

Carlos Boozer still having the same old struggles when guarded by talented guys with length.

I've never been a fan of Deng's game but he is having a very solid season.

Finally traded in those ridiculous 22-footers for 3s.

He is heaving up an obscene amount of 3 point shots this season.  Only hitting at 34% clip, though.

Still think they would've been better off, in the long run, moving him this past offseason (perhaps with Noah) but this team is still exceeding my expectations.

Agreed.

Which is why I love Boston's chances in any potential Bulls series in the future.

I don't think 2 teams duking it out in a 7 games series or whatever has as big an impact as people think. Is there really any correlation to winning a tough series and then losing the next?

We had 2 tough 7 games series in the 08 season then won the next 2 in six. In 09 we had a brutal 7 game series with Chi than lost in 7 to the Magic (without KG). The Magic went on to spank the Cavs who had swept 2 series in a row at that point.

Great job by the Bulls to open the fourth quarter. They are in great position to pull this out.

Manu Ginobili has been very quiet since his early pair of baskets. George Hill too.

Yeah, he's not the most efficient offensive player, but 34% on 3s is still much better than 40% on long 2s.  Makes the Chicago offense (their weak point) that much more efficient relative to last year.

Yeah, KG will make for a much defender on Booz than Baby.

Yeah KG is a much better option than Baby.  One of the best guys to contain D-Rose too.

If the Celtics have a chance to avoid it, which they do, then I'm all in favor of it.  I'd rather not test the theory.
