I wish this weren't the case, but this completely negates the positives we saw last night. Up by 11 against that D-League team and you lose because you still can't rebound, take care of the ball or score in the clutch? Inexcusable.

Overreact much?

Jesus this board never changes. Talk to me if this crap is still happening at during the playoffs. Then it is a problem.

2nd game of a back to back, vs. a team hungry to prove that LeBron was holding them back rather than helping them (doesn't matter if it is true or not they are playing like that).

this is a bad cavs team...no excuses..boston should have won this game

What a terrible game by just about everyone wearing green.

I thought we played bad against Miami, but this was just brutal.

Our offense is pathetic right now.

Celtics stars having an off game on the second night of a back to back in which the first game is treated with playoff minutes...wake me up when a real storyline emerges.

Excuse making seems to be starting early this year. Lol

The audacity to call me out after you were straight up proven wrong last year. lol

I owned up to it last year
Yet you come back with the exact same attitude this year?

Its a bad loss but you're already talking about quitting game threads till the playoffs?

Awful loss, so stupid... way to go to get Homecourt Advantage. A stupid defeat against a TERRIBLE team and a lot of minutes for the starters on a back to back. A great loss loss situation.

And kudos to Rondo for persisting to REFUSE to drive to the basket when his team desperately needs an easy bucket, he can do it everytime but he never does (or when the game is over).

Good night guys.

BBD was a -7 tonight. Interesting...
Only 5 rebounds in 33 minutes. Only 5 boards in 29 minutes against Miami.

One rebound every 6+ minutes isn't good enough.
KGs rebounding these two games has me encouraged though.

BBD is taking a step back from last year.

Pierce is probably the most vexing, I wonder if his back isn't too hot. He had little impact this game.

That means nothing in this game.  The only players with a + were Garnett and Wafer.

Seriously, what's the point of winning last night if you lose tonight to the Cavs (the team alot of people predicted to be worst in league). If they lost last night, yet beat the Cavs...they're still 1-1, ridiculous...u have to win the games your supposed to win, the Miami win counts just as much in the standings as a Cavs win

2nd game of a back to back, vs. a team hungry to prove that LeBron was holding them back rather than helping them (doesn't matter if it is true or not they are playing like that). Not a loss that should happen, but it really isn't a shocking loss at all like the way the people on these boards are making it out to be.
Yes, not surprising the Cavs came out with such intensity in their first home game post LeBron James.

The Cavs are going to be overlooked by plenty of opponents of this season and pick up a few wins because of it.

No duh. But it isn't a surprising loss at all.

Oh and the Cavs really aren't as bad as you are making them out to be. No they aren't an a top tier team but they are still a threat to make the playoffs.

Baby's the MVP of this game if we win.

I don't get it.  I've only seen the 4th quarter, and outside of the charge he drew, I think he's been horrible.  Pierce passed it to him and he practically dribbled it out of bounds.  He gave up points in bunches, and has the worst +/- of anyone on the team this game to show for it.

Yet he would be the MVP??  And someone else posted that he's the new player of the post-big3 era?  Shoot me now if he's starting on this team in 2 years.

In general I think everyone played pretty poorly this game.

He had more points in the 4th quarter than the Big 4 combined. He was the only guy who played tonight and had ZERO turnovers. He was the only one hustling for rebounds and the charge he took was huge. It's not his fault Ray is lights out one night and can't throw it in the ocean the next or that Rondo goes into a shell on the road more often than not. +/- is a joke.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
The talk about how awful the Cavs are going to be has always seemed to me apologism for LeBron's playoff failures. One man teams don't win 60 games. The Cavs are obviously not a great team this year, but they're not the worst either, particularly in their home opener against a vaunted opponent in a summer where everyone (including their former beloved teammate) has written them off. Anyone who claims "Lebron played with no help" is a LBJ fanboy, not a nba fan.

One of the things that drives me crazy about sites like this one is the sense that games "should" or "shouldn't" go a certain way. It's a long season. I think we all expect the Celtics to win 5 out of every 8 games, but that doesn't mean that every individual game is going to go one way or another. I honestly don't know how anyone could enjoy watching a season of any team with expectations like that.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

BBD has been fantastic this year.

The Cavs played him smartly and sagged straight to the paint in the second half.

Still he needs to create more for this team to function offensively.
