Texas just blew Game 3 wide open.  They really should be on the verge of going up 3-0 in this series, not 2-1.

People been watching these series?  Some great starting pitching in both LCS'. Cliff Lee is just filthy.

Oh yeah, I've been watching ... not much activity with PAPTBG, so I figured there wasn't a ton of baseball fans around. Awesome series ... Lee is a killer, and I'm lovin' the Yanks getting romped. Throwing has been huge on both sides, and some great games ... hope it continues!

Texas' rotation is setting up quite nicely too for the rest of the series.  Not that they necessarily want to be there but they would have Cliff Lee on normal rest for a potential Game 7 and it would be played in Texas.

Yankees are in trouble.  Like the announcers were saying earlier;  starting Burnett tomorrow is extremely risky but pitching Sabathia on short rest is a huge gamble too that would probably hurt the rest of the Yankees rotation.

I think it's the lesser of two evils ... Sabathia's turnaround isn't that quick, so I'd probably go with Burnett, too. Should be a good one tomorrow, too.

My current facebook status reads this: "lol, the NY Yankees just lost 8 nothing to the Texas Rangers. I hear food in NYC can be pretty expensive sometimes, via 'Everything is Bigger/Costs More in New York'...regardless, New York pizza > the Yankees"

...I've never been the biggest fan of the Yankees, considering the fact that it was the Cincinnati Red Stockings who lay claim to have been the first baseball team to pay all of their players thus becoming the first professional sports team in America.

If you combine the fact that the Boston Red Sox were created once Harry Wright, the manager of the original Cincinnati Red Stockings left Cincinnati and moved to Boston (taking all of the best players from his team in Cincinnati with him) where the Red Sox proceeded to get their arses kicked for 86 years by their rival Yankees (following the curse of the Great Bambino) with the fact that the New York Yankees now have the highest payroll of any professional baseball team, then the Cincinnati Reds' 5 World Series victories might seem a little pale in comparison to the Yankees' legacy, especially after witnessing how poorly the current Reds performed in this years' NLDS after winning the NL Central for the first time in 15 years.

While the Red Sox failed to make it into the post-season this year I did find it funny how New England Sports Ventures were still able to purchase the debt-ridden futbol club Liverpool at a discount, a testament to how many American sports franchises can continue to make profit even after enduring years of losing seasons. Take the city of Cincinnati for example; while both the Bengals and the Reds were having decade-long slumps as far as season records are concerned the city was still able to build both sports teams brand new, state-of-the-art sports facilities in Paul Brown Stadium (2000) and Great American Ballpark (2003), whereas a team like Liverpool can finish near the top of Barclay's Premier League year to year and yet still be unable to balance its checkbook at the end of a season. Or you can look at La Liga, where their top two futbol clubs are among the most recognizable sports teams in Europe, meanwhile the rest of the clubs in La Liga are much less universally known and struggle to gain air-time even in Spanish broadcasts.

All I'm trying to say is that while things may have been a little lackluster for Red Sox fans this season there is still the chance that their rivals the NY Yankees might be knocked out of the playoffs this round and fail to defend their 27th World Series. As a disgruntled Reds fan, I might have to side with y'all (the Red Sox) this season  8).

...they say baseball is a 'dying sport' but where else can one get the insurance necessary to build state-of-the-art sports facilities??

I'll say it albeit it probably being premature (and possibly come bite nip me in the bud) but the Yankees are D-O-N-E.

Glad to see that I wasn't the only person interested in the MLB Playoffs this year with the Sox not in it.

Boy was it great seeing the Yanks get knocked off last night.

Texas will sure be set up nicely for the World Series being able to trot out Cliff Lee in Game 1.

I think this NLCS has a good shot of going 7.  Still not sure about who will win it.  I think San Fran blew an excellent shot the other night having Lincecoum on the mound.

...wow, I can't wait for the World Series to start.

well, it seems like the Yankees got the 'ole cane, this season...or the Shepherd's Crook -- whatever you guys want to call it.

...looks like Lucky the Leprechaun's cane is still good for something  ;)  ;)

Giants and Rangers.  Not exactly what you would have dreamed up in April.  Should be a good series though.  They both have played their fannies off to get here (I don't normally use the word "fannies" so much).

Guaranteed fresh champ.  I'm going to take the Rangers to win.
Yup

San Francisco is 6 outs away.

They haven't won the title since moving out there.  It'd be a pretty good story.
