Quote
Eddie House has heard it, and he's had it. So when asked Friday what the Heat must do to shut up its swelling, shrill chorus of critics, the veteran guard let them have it.

"I think, you know what, honestly, I don't give a (expletive) about nobody else on the outside," House said. "It doesn't matter about anybody out there. I don't care what their expectations are. We have our expectations and our goals. We are going to achieve them. That's the bottom line."

[...]

House, 32, doesn't figure to do the latter. He came into the league popping his collar, and has never been afraid to pop off, on or off the court. He has more credibility now, after playing a role in Boston's 2008 championship. His contention is that the critics have nothing else to discuss and, since "negativity sells," and "no drama's no fun," they're trying to create some. He calls it "messed up" that the stars are being criticized for taking less money to play together.

"So, at the end of the day, middle fingers to all the haters," House said.

Kinda sensational, but really what else can Eddie say? This response was kind of inevitable from someone in Miami, maybe House is just trying to show he's behind the team.

Eddie's a fiery guy and loyal to his team.  No surprise to see that hasn't changed in Miami.

"Middle fingers to all the haters." It wouldn't be my approach. But I certainly can understand it. In fact, in another mood, or even another minute or so, I bet House might have expressed a less antagonistic sentiment. But the colorful and fiery comment is what grabs the reporter's attention.

As long as it's not "middle fingers to the Celtics", I can deal.

Who can see Eddie House having a 20+ point game against us?  Something like 5 straight 3s.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Honestly, I doubt it -- I can't remember him having a game like that against us after he was traded to the Knicks.

...on an un-related topic I was playing some NBA 2K11 earlier and defeated the Lakers with the Nuggets and then beat the Orlando Magic on 'pro' difficulty w/ the Celtics. I then tried to beat the Lakers afterwards a few times with the Phoenix Suns on 'Hall of Fame' difficulty (I'm relatively new to the 2K series) but the best I could manage was a tie (14 to 14) after one quarter  :-[

I also tried the first event in 'Jordan Challenge' mode and had 74 points w/ MJ in four quarters to beat the Celtics, though it was my third try. For some strange reason the game doesn't allow 'young' Jordan to make 3-pointers, even wide open threes or else I would have had maybe 83 points, lol. Then afterwards I beat the Charlotte Bobcats with the 94-95 Bulls. That game is taking up way too much of my time these days...

I wish Eddie wasn't on the Heat.

Think it was hard for him to go to the Knicks. I was disappointed he went to Miami, but can't blame him too much after Boston dumped him. He is clearly still bitter about this.
