This actually was one of my first thoughts after I heard about this trade.  But we have also heard this before over the last year or two, and nothing happened, so I wouldn't get too excited yet.

It’s because he’s not on a very good contract.

Rumors are that The Pats want him to re-work it.

Definitely worth looking into.
He's no where close to the player Moss is, but having a vet who understands BB and the Pats organization, and who knows and has worked with Brady before, can only help.  Especially if the contract can be re-worked and the trade can involved a not-very-high draft pick (5th rounder?)...

The main reason I want them to pull something like this off is not because I think they need Branch right now...but without Moss, their recieving core is suddenly very thin.  If Tate, Welker, or Edelman go down, they are going to be in pretty tough shape.  So, if they can get an NFL reciever who knows the system, then it would be a smart pickup, even if its just for insurance.

And alot of them view the signing as a mistake, Seattle fans aren’t a huge fan of him.

If the price is right I'd be glad to have you come back Deion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Branch is another receiver who tends to work underneath, a la Welker and Edelman, right?  I don't remember him ever being a "stretch the field" kind of guy.

Would LOVE to see them make a big splash and pursue Vincent Jackson, but sounds like that's a pipe dream.

Not A chance, how many DUI's does this guy have this year?

Well, as was noted on another forum, you should be able to write language into his new contract (VJ) that another DUI or anything causing him to be suspended would require the repayment of a good chunk of his guaranteed money.  They could protect themselves.

Bigger question is whether San Diego is really content to let him walk without compensation.  They've been holding out for a #2 and a #3, and not that the Vikings have traded for Moss there aren't too many other potential trade partners for them.

We supposedly got rid of moss because he was a distraction.  Why would you want to bring a low character guy like Jackson into this lockerroom? So he can teach the young guys how to fail a sobriety test?

LOL, Adam Schefter said the same thing this morning, Rondo: that the Pats were not at all considering VJax.

I doubt there's much fire to this, mostly smoke.

Reports say the Chargers are not interested in Mankins.

Still, that didn't keep me from picking him up off waivers in my fantasy league, LOL.
