From what I understand, The NBA allows for a 12-man max. active roster, and a 3-man maximum on the inactive roster. Those 3 players on the inactive list can play in the D-league.
The players I think obvious to make the 12-man squad would be: Paul, KG, Ray, Rondo, Shaq, JO, Daniels, BBD, and Bradley. With Perk on the inactive roster to start the season. (I think we have too much stock in Bradley to send him down).
The remaining players include Delonte, Luke, Lasme, Erdin, Wafer and Mario West. So only one player NEEDS to be cut, regardless of what the organization may or may not do.
IMO...Erdin definitely makes this team, and most likely the active roster...The same should go for Delonte...Luke will be on the inactive list and sent down to develop some more... That leaves Mario, Wafer and Lasme, all of whom have non-guaranteed contracts. I think they should designate Lasme and let Wafer prove himself. Mario is out of the loop.
In short: active roster: PP, KG, RR, Shaq, JO, Ray, West, Q, BBD, Erdin, Wafer and Bradley
Inactive Roster: Perk, Luke, Lasme
In the playoffs we can only have the 12-man roster. So with Perk hopefully back by then, its between Bradley and Wafer for the final spot.
Nice post, but two players still need to be cut. You completely left Nate Robinson out of the equation. We still have 17 players on our preseason roster.
