They have the annual nba gm survey posted on nba.com.

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/features/10/02/defense-predictions/index.html

KG received some votes for best defender and best interior defender. Perk was mentioned for best interior defender. Rondo finished 3rd for best perimeter defender (behind Kobe and Artest) and Rondo finished first for best on the ball defender and best passing lane defender (or, as people here like to say, he's pretty mediocre defensively). The team garnered 75% of the vote for best defensive team, and Doc won for best defensive schemes.

Tony Allen finished 5th in best on the ball defender and received votes for best perimeter defender.

The most interesting thing about that survey was the backlash against Lebron James.  He didn't get a single vote in any of the defensive categories other than "defending the passing lanes", despite being All-Defense last year.  He got almost no support for MVP, despite winning by overwhelming margins the past two years, and 29% of GMs said Durant is a better SF, period.  The Lakers, rather than the Heat, were seen as the favorite in the East, and 26% of GMs don't think they'll win their division.

It shows that GMs are people, too, and are prone to the same biases and dislikes.

It looks like he didn't show up in any of the categories other than "defending the passing lanes" last year either. And do you really like his chances at MVP? He and Wade are both going to have lower stats as both were top 3 in usage last year.

Hopefully, the Lakers were not seen as the favorite in the East, but rather to win the championship.  I guess, Roy Hobbs is a person too. ;D

Haha, yeah.  Or, the GMs *really* have an LA bias, and are predicting them to win both conferences this year.

Being a fellow lawyer, I think Mr. Hobbs can take a little good-natured ribbing.

Indeed, although many in our shared field take themselves a little too seriously.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
