Also, I agree with Birdbrain that the best thing that's happened to the Celtic organisation in the last 20 years is Kevin Garnett.

I also think the worst thing that's happened to us in the last 20 years is losing out on the 1st or 2nd pick and not getting Kevin Durant.

KD's a franchise player - for 15 years...

We would have been a fun team.  As for Tony Allen, I think he was a better player this year than he was back then.  He finally settled on role and quit trying to do too much.  He could blow by everyone back then, but I'm not sure a team with some good offensive weapons is going to benefit from TA repeatedly putting his head down and launching himself toward the rim.

If any of your scenerios excluded Ray Allen and included KG,it would never have happened.According to KG in interviews even to this day, when he found out Ray was part of the trades then it made up his mind. From listening to KG he would have gone elsewhere without Ray becoming a Celtics.

It's possible he would have changed his mind if we'd have gotten Durant.
I doubt it,because he was tired of losing and when he decided to make that change he was looking at what the team already had in place.Pierce and Allen were two seasoned vets that he felt good about the possibility of winning it all with.No disrespect to KD but his being a rookie at the time wouldn't have done much to get KG to Boston. How would KG have known at that time KD was going to develop into a superstar...also he was looking to win right away not wait until a young rising star develop. At the time KD wouldn't had any influence in bringing KG to Boston.

Or he would have realized that KD was going to be a special player, like most other basketball people did. It's just a guess on your part. Before the trade KG probably thought he had at least a 5-6 year window. He'd be much better off with KD than Ray during that timeframe.
