Realgm has reported that New York will have a 2011 1st round pick to give to Denver. Could it be ours? A 1st rounder for Wilson Chandler? Probably a pure pipe dream but who knows.

Unfortunately, we don't have the salary pieces to send to New York for Chandler, especially now that we cut LaFayette.

It wouldn't shock me if Chandler is the guy they're sending out to get the #1, though.

BBD and a pick for Chandler and Bill Walker works.

Oh crap...I think I just started another "bring back Bill Walker" thread...

Yeah, and perhaps Baby would be an enticing piece for Denver as well if it were part of a 3-team deal.

Really though, I don't think there is much of a chance it is the C's.

It could happen, but I don't think the team would fill up one hole on its roster (2nd or 3rd string SF) by creating another (backup PF, at least until Perk comes back.)

Possibilities...I'm sure that with KG, JO, and Shaq playing 30/30/20 minutes, that only leaves 16 minutes left at the 4/5.  Gody and "that Turkish guy" can probably show enough to handle that, especially next to one of those three.  It could also mean that BBD's minutes go to the longer Turkish Guy, which might further our length advantage.  Small ball is also a possibility, and Chandler and Walker can sure fit into that, possibly filling 5 of the 16 minutes.

Possibilities...I'd make a phone call...  I think those two are worth a career backup in his last year and a low draft pick.

Also, it would create possibilities to put more height/length at SG, creating an overall-taller string...

Delonte/Quisy/Chandler/JO/Shaq? (with Perk back and starting)

Or a fast, fast one:

Nate/Delonte/Quisy or Walker/Chandler/Erden?

We can surely do quite well if we gave up BBD for 2 legit SF's, even bench guys.

If it nets Wilson Chandler, Baby can be the Sacrificial lamb. Its not like he'd be playing much with Perk back. It would mean more Luke & Semih, but who cares. I don't want to get too excited. Do it Danny!

First, even if Shaq and J.O. play 50 combined minutes, I'm skeptical that Harangody and Erden can play 18.  Counting on two unpolished rookies to fill a fairly big hole in our rotation would be a mistake, in my opinion.

Second, you're forgetting injuries.  KG, Shaq, and J.O. have all battled recent injuries, and Perk is of course gone for about 2/3 of the season.  If one of those guys goes down, who fills his shoes?  Semih Erden?  I'm not comfortable with that.

As far as I see it, we already have a backup SF in Marquis.  I don't think it makes sense to trade our one healthy backup big man for a SF, even if he's an upgrade.  At the trade deadline, I could see it if Perk is back.  Until that point, though, I don't want to go into the season any more short-handed then we have to.

Completely agree with this.  Just a bad move to trade away your only mobile backup PF for a slight upgrade to Marquis, much as I'd like an upgrade to Marquis.

Besides, our likely mid 20s pick is probably not all that coveted.

Only if we can nab Anthony Randolph. i'd give up baby and a number 1 to get that kid in here to study under KG.
NY wold def be willing to part with newly acquired AR if it paves the way for melo.
(I know the numbers don't work straight up,this would have to be part of bigger den/ny/bos/? trade. i don't have the time to play with the trade machine... forgive me)

Apparently, Indiana had already offered their #1 for Randolph, and were rebuffed.  I'm not sure that we could beat that offer.

Also, I think that Denver may value Randolph higher than BBD and a #1, although I can't say that for sure.

From NY's end, my guess is that they're trying to build a package for Melo around Curry's expiring (and half paid) deal, Gallinari, Randolph, and Chandler / #1 pick.  I don't know if that's enough for the Nuggets, although they could do worse.

imagine opo teams trying to score against our front line with
3 big strong low post beasts and two high flying, agile, perimeter capable, weak side shot blockers who love to D up.

when KG gets tired in comes his 21 year old doppelganger in training.

I really do not understand all the Anthony Randolph love on this blog.

We could trade Davis and sign Dampier.  I don't know if Chandler and Walker is worth Davis and a pick though.  It is definitely worth an inquiry though.

He brings a Lamar Odom dimension to this old/slow front-line. You could even compare him to a young KG with his athleticism.
