During this pre-season I would love to see the rookies and camp invitees play along side the veterans.

Seems like they almost always get stuck playing with the second unit or amongst themselves. Wouldn't it be great to see how well Harangody plays replacing Pierce in the lineup. Or, how about Jamar Smith bombing away 3's with Pierce, Garnett,Rondo and Shaq.  He's definitely not going to make an impression playing along side the second unit, but with the vets he may shine.
The good news is West will play with the starters. We'll find out if he's back on track. Semith should get a chance too.

Overall, I'd love to find out how much the young legs bolster the tempo of the starting unit. In order to find out, Doc has to experiment and not be afraid of hurting egos. My feeling is he has no choice.  The team is too old (slow)and injury prone to go back to the old ways.

They can play all they want in camp and preseason (except the preseason game in Harftford since I will be there :))If they can earn a spot or minutes more power to them.

I also would love to see them earn a spot or minutes.  But, how are they going to do that when everyone on the 2nd and 3rd units are trying to do the same thing?  Thus, every man is out for himself.

That's what happened in the Summer League.  Harangody kept shooting the ball.  How could any of the others get into a rhythm?  If Doc lets the Rookies and Invitee's play with the first unit then they aren't fighting amongst themselves. Instead, they are more likely to play better because they won't have to worry about inter-team competition. That's my theory.

I hope none of the main rotation guys play more than 10 minutes during pre-season. Maybe play Shaq and Jermaine a little to get them used to Doc's system. But after that I want to see a lot of Erden, Harrangody and Bradley.

We already have a good idea who's making the team, so that really shouldn't be a concern going into pre-season.

Is Bradley gonna play?  I thought I heard otherwise.  I hope he does because it'll be his only chance at minutes this season.
