Quote
New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Boston Globe reported on Tuesday.

It is an injury that usually means the end to a player's season, though the Patriots have not yet placed Faulk on injured reserve.

"They're still working on it. I think part of it is how things come around in the next day or so," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said on a conference call with reporters Tuesday, when asked about Faulk's injury. "We'll see how things go in the next day or so and based on how that is, then make a decision at that point."

Asked later whether that decision could be to place Faulk on season-ending injured reserve, Belichick said he didn't want to speculate. He said the first decision when assessing the status of an injured player is whether he will be available for this week's game.

Ya, sucks.  He is a great player who is not only a great playmaker but is great picking up the blitz.  He will be dearly missed, but im confident the pats can fill his role.  Probably sammy morris i would think

I hope this Maroney trade doesn't come back to get us.  With Morris and Taylor as injury prone as they are, Maroney would be a nice guy to have behind (or ahead of)  Green-Ellis.

Who is this Woodhead guy from the Jets/is he any good?

  • Rondo = Good
It sucks, but the Patriots have bigger problems.  A blow to their offense is something they can somewhat afford.  They need to improve their lines and their secondary.

I had a hunch the second he limped off that this might be the last we see of him.  It was weird because it didn't look too bad, but my gut still sunk when I saw it.
Yup

Sucks lets cross his fingers that he'll be able to return some time during the season.

If I were a Pats fan, I would be more concerned with the defense. Faulk is hardly irreplaceable.

This is really depressing and sucks, but MikeDussalt a member of PatsPulpit puts a really good spin on it...

I was really hoping that we wouldn’t have lost Faulk for the season, but we all know that was going to be the case. We just have to evolve from it and be better from it (no matter how tough it could be). Like you said Mike we have to look at is as a new oppurtunity.

P.S. I'm not trying to sell the site on you guys, but for all the Pats fans that just use the forums here to talk about the Pats PatsPulpit is an excellent blog and a great source for information.  I highly recommend Pats fans on here who haven't checked it out to.

At least Danny Woodhead is doing a good Faulk impression
