Well, in a way he’s right. Minny is a team to be beat... many times.

http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/BEasy_Prepares_For_Camp_2010_09_15.html

Michael Beasley: “I think that speaks to Pat Riley, you know exactly who he is. Pat Riley is a winner, winner, winner, that’s pretty much all it is. They got three of the best guys in the NBA, they got the best role players in the NBA, you know they are trying to win championships and that’s what Pat Riley is all about. It is unfortunate they had to get rid of me but like I said, Pat Riley wins at any cost and that’s exactly what he did.”

Jonah Ballow: “Are they the team to beat? I mean, there is a team in LA with a couple of trophies but are they the team to beat?”

Michael Beasley: “Honestly, and I know a lot of people are not going to like that fact that I’m going to say this but I think we are the team to beat. You know, that’s just me and my ego speaking. I think the Lakers are the defending champs two years in a row, I think the Lakers still hold that title. It’s nice to see somebody try to fight back but as of now, the Lakers are still the team to beat.”

I expect Minny to be better this year. Kevin Love averaged 14 pts and 11 rebs as a 21 year old last season, and he just turned 22 a week or so ago.

If Beasely can ramp it up a notch, they will be more competitive. Hopefully those two can play together.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I expected to be able to get in a good one liner on Beasley's behalf, but there is nothing controversial about his interview.

I don't think Minnesota is a good situation for Beasley. Not with Kevin Love there.

I think his development is going to be held back once again.

Nothing wrong here.  Media up there would be ripping him apart if he said they were going to suck.  I never really played for a terrible team in my life, but every time I played a game I went into it expecting a win.  If you expect to lose, then there's no chance you can win to begin with.
do it

Yeah, they're the team to beat ... for the first pick in the lottery! ;)

A "positive attitude" is one thing, "fantasy" is another.

I've tried to like Beasley, but I just can't.  He and Kahn the Magnificent deserve each other, is what I think.

Funny you say this, because the Timberwolves already put an ad in the city newspaper stating this:

"So will we challenge for the NBA championship this year? Not likely."

...which basically is saying they're going to suck.

Well, pretty clear that Beasley lied to David Kahn about not smokin' dope any more.

David Kahn is an idiot and needs to be fired. ::)

Props to the kid for at least being positive about his team.

Flynn, Johnson, Beasley, Love, Darko

If Beasley can amp it up they could at least be fun to watch.
