Haha (TP).

Just goes to show you - KG can not be replaced - just like Bird, Magic, Michael, etc....he's one of a kind.

There are some close substitutes that have been mentioned throughout the thread, but none have all of his intangibles, at least not yet.

Tyrus Thomas is the type of PF I'd like to build upon next to Rondo.

Is still working on the jumper and athletic to catch the oops
Can't stop, Rondo!

Yo what up, Im new to this Forum and im a big Celtic fan, I also own a Rajon Rondo jersey.

My question:

With Kevin Garnett set to make $18mill + $21mill (I know its a disgrace) in the next few years he will be 36, My question is who do we replace him with down the line?

Al Jefferson is a beast but the lacks on the Defensive end, Big Baby... hmm well yeah I dont think he will take over from KG, and thats all i can think off at this time. Obviously we could go out and get a PF in a few years but who? Jermaine O'Neal could hold the fort down if he remains healthy and its a big if, but im not sure

Type down below who you would like to see replace KG in the next few years

Thanks!
I would take Blake Griffin.

JO is already in decline and is already a questionable starter.

JO isn’t a PF, and I wouldn’t question his ability to start YET.

I’d like Josh Smith.

Kevin Love would be perfect paired with Perk.  And Blake Griffin is going to be a beast of the first order.  It's impossible to tell at this point, but these are my two favorite young PF's right now.

  • Rondo = Good
Guys, we're not going to have a legit chance of getting pretty much any  of the names you're mentioning.

By the time KG retires, Pierce will be close to retiring as well, and Ray will be done.

In other words, our best plan will be to suck a lot for a year or two and hope to get lucky in the draft.

I didn't enjoy the last time they did that

May not be a bad idea, though - I don't see our luck being as bad in the draft anymore. Getting KG and Ray broke that curse.

This is tough, with a capital "T".

Anthony Randolph appears to be the closest ability-wise to KG - but will he be a leader out there?

You must be kidding, AR in all his potential will only be a shadow of KG. AR is closer to 6'10 than KG's 7'1 frame.

Who care about legit chance with questions like these?

Not knowing who will be available and what parts we will have around make a thread like this so detached from reality, that anything may as well go.

I think that the draft will play a significant role down the road which makes speculation even more bizarre.

Though I was only responding to a previous post, I see no problem playing JO at PF. Labels can be pointless sometimes, like calling Duncan a PF.
