Yo what up, Im new to this Forum and im a big Celtic fan, I also own a Rajon Rondo jersey.

My question:

With Kevin Garnett set to make $18mill + $21mill (I know its a disgrace) in the next few years he will be 36, My question is who do we replace him with down the line?

Al Jefferson is a beast but the lacks on the Defensive end, Big Baby... hmm well yeah I dont think he will take over from KG, and thats all i can think off at this time. Obviously we could go out and get a PF in a few years but who? Jermaine O'Neal could hold the fort down if he remains healthy and its a big if, but im not sure

Type down below who you would like to see replace KG in the next few years

Thanks!

At this point it's impossible to know right now. Plus, all the Pf's you mentioned are set to expire with or before KG.

Well as far as young power forwards go I really like Kevin Love all around game, like Anthony Randoph's upside,  Blake Griffin, and LaMarcus Aldridge to name a few.  However a few years time is an eternity  and it's too soon to worry about who we can get.

Too early to say ... hard to know what opportunities will (or who) will be available.

Anthony Randolph would be a player they should be keeping tabs on though. Low value relative to his talent / potential level.

Ersan Ilyasova.

Sorry, I thought I was IP for a second.

In all seriousness, it's probably a player who has yet to enter the league. I don't see the Celtics acquiring a franchise-level PF through trade or free agency before Garnett's time is up.

That leaves Ainge trying to catch lightning in a bottle with a 1st rounder sometime between now and 2012.

Al Horford would be a great fit next Perk in the future. We will finally get to to see him play the PF this year. He is a Free agent in 2012 I believe.

Yeah I like Horford also, Although I think The Hawks and He are working on an Extension, I could be wrong though :)

He can't be replaced:
however for young pfs, I like love, horford and griffin.
I would rather we'd get brook lopez as I think he is a center to build around (with rondo of course).  With a great center you can get away with a pf not as great as KG

Austin Daye anyone? Kid is 6'11" with lots of upside. Similar to a Randolph. Plus his dad was a Celtic. I think he had a pretty good summer league too if I'm remembering correctly.

Danny will draft the young talent in the next era of this team, he will only Sign Great FA or trade for Great players once the rebuild is done and we are ready to compete for a title.
KG's replacement is somewhere in college right now. My guess is that Danny will trade Nate Robinson for a 1st round pick during the season, because Delonte is a better option at the PG spot for a defensive team like us. Having 2 1st round Picks Makes it that Danny can trade up in the draft possibly getting a lottery pick like OKC did this year.

I agree I think it is much more likely Danny (if hes still here) will try to draft someone instead of acquiring someone through a transaction.

Ed Davis for the Raptors looks like a Decent Kid, We should have traded for KG about 5 years ago, I beleive that KG is done pretty much, especially after his Knee Injury against the Jazz, he went downhill from there imo (Lost Explosiveness)

This is tough, with a capital "T".

Out of the PFs named in this thread so far, I like Kevin Love.  Kevin seems to me like he can be a leader out there, as well as put up solid numbers.

He just turned 22 a few days days ago, and last season's stats? 14 pts, 11 rebs, 0.4 blks, 2.3 assists, and roughly a steal per.

Anthony Randolph appears to be the closest ability-wise to KG - but will he be a leader out there?

I like Al Horford as well, but I don't think he's leaving ATL.

Wow, impossible to say.  There are just way too many variables.  I don't think any PF in the NBA would come close to matching KG's intensity, though.

An underrated guy that I'd love to see the Celtics acquire and mold is Brandan Wright, but he's never going to be near KG's level.

Noah. He's a free agent after this season if he doesn't get extended.
