Good.  This needed to get done.

It'll be interesting to see what the guaranteed money and annual cap hits look like.

I am happy that its close.  Interesting that its only a 3 year extension but im happy with that, I think he will be 36 at the end of the deal so it makes sense i guess.

We will have to wait and see what happens with Moss and Makins now.

Its interesting that it is being reported as a 3 year deal.  I was thinking he was looking for more than that, but I think that length makes a lot of sense.  It gives the Pats the rest of his real prime, and doesn't go too far into the new CBA (which could end up handcuffing them, depending on the changes), and it also gives him an opportunity to hit FA one more time, and potentially get another decent payday, as well as choose to play the twilight of his career in a city closer to his home (which may also coincide with Belichick fading into the sunset).

I think the Pats are offering 3, I'm not sure Brady will settle for just that.

Didn't Kraft and BB give Bledsoe a 10 year deal?

Unfortunately Kraft is playing both sides right now. He runs one of the best moneymaking franchises and certainly wants to keep Brady (and from what I recall he would prefer a less even league revenue sharing), but he also is a major force in the owners group and wants to prove that players aren't worth the money they already make, so he can't hyperspend on the uncapped season then turn around and tell the owners/players that owners don't make enough money and the players should make less.

It sounds like this was a bit premature.  Now the word is nothing is imminent, and they are actually talking 4 years.
