Speaking that Erdin is doing alright in FIBA play, and Perk will be out awhile, and Avery was a 1st rounder, then they're both out for sure. Noway either of them outplays Wafer or West.

Sorry for the luck, but they're out. I didn't really understand the late season signing of them last year anyways. Do their jersey numbers get retired now?
Can't stop, Rondo!

Based on the summerleague, no.  Gaffney is an NBA defender, but a mediocre highschool offensive player.  Until he learns to play offense on the perimeter about 20 times better, he is not an NBA player, despite the fact that he can already defend.  And Gaffney is a dime a dozen D-league combo-guard.  The C's already have 3 combo-guards ahead of him on the depth chart (and that doesn't even count the starters), so he really has not chance.

Gaffney certainly isn't a combo-guard. But you could call him a "combo-forward" similar to Luc Mbah a Moute.

Sorry, meant Laffayette as the combo-guard.

But Gaffney has a long way to go to be anywhere close to Mbah a Moute offensively...and I think Mbah a Moute isn't a rotation player on a championship caliber team.

So, if Wafer flips out because he thinks he should be ahead of Delonte West on the depth chart and has a meltdown that leads to him getting cut, would the Celtics be better off keeping Lafayette or keeping Gaffney or cutting both in favor of the best player they can find who is cut by another team (maybe a small forward who is around the Lafayette/Gaffney talent level)?

wow, if Gaffney is on Mbah Moute's level defensively, then cut someone now!!! lol

we have plenty of offense in West, Nate, MD and Wafer. and isn't Gody a better offensive player than he is a defensive player? Mbah a Moute is a legit 3 who can rebound the ball pretty well.

What are the chances that Harangody turns into a major disappointment?  What are the chances that Wafer or West mentally implode?

When would a late second round choice be a disappointment?  They rarely make their teams.

Well, if he died of a cocaine overdose, that would probably count as a disappointment.

Well, I think in that scenario they may give Gaffney a shot in a Brandon Wallace sort of way (as in, let him practice with the team until just before the contract would be guaranteed for the rest of the year, and then cut).  But that is a very long shot.
