I have read a lot of posts on here saying that Delonte is a better player than Nate, but I just don't see it. The only advantage I see Delonte having is his height and his ability to play both guard positions.

As far as talent goes , I think Nate is better. He is a much better ball handler, can get into the lane , can go to both hands, is a good defender (has the ability to stay in front of almost any pg because of his quickness) and a decent outside shooter. He is also a much more explosive player .

I like the Delonte pickup, but some people seem to think that he is going to be taking mins away from Nate as the backup PG. I don't see that happening. Delonte will see most of his mins as backup SG IMO

So who is the better overall player? I say Nate is

Delonte is a better fit and better player overall for this team. He could do everything Nate does, plus play 3 positions if needed. Nate is a better shooter making 3's, and Delonte is a better scorer making 3's.

They're pretty comparable looking at those numbers. I think Delonte is better when his head is screwed on right because he's not the same sort of defensive liability that Robinson is.

Hmm....

I feel like West is better at the defensive end.

As far as I see, they both bring the same thing on offense; who does that "thing" better, I'm not sure.

I guess my answer is West.

Nate.  The guy can be very explosive.  I think he could be a very important offensive player for the C's this season. And from what I saw in the playoffs, his defense was pretty good too.

Nate has probably surpassed Ray and Paul on a pure scorer scale at this point in their careers. This kid with a training camp under his belt is gonna super scary. The league and apparently a lot of people on this board will have their eyes opened. He has the ability at any time to just go off and take over a game with pure scoring. For a guy his size that's very rare. And it's his heart that enables him to do it. It's hard not to root for a guy like that.

Delonte can guard two's, thats his biggest advantage over Nate.  Nate guards one's better, is far more explosive offensively, is a better ballhandler.  The two are pretty equal as playmakers and shooters.  I agree with celtichooligan that a lot of boardmembers are going to have their eyes opened after Nate has a whole training camp under his belt.

Delonte is a better rebounder and with BBD in the second lineup like the extra height he brings. Shrek and Donkey are entertaining; but I think we do give up on the rebounding with that lineup.

In a vacuum Nate Robinson is a better player, but he requires the right situation to do the most good.  Delonte West is a more conventional combo guard who you can plug into almost any team to fill a standard role, while there are some places that Robinson just won't work out.

West and Robinson are both much better than Von Wafer.

Delonte takes less off the table than Nate.  You can play him with Rondo, and you don't have to worry about him as much defensively.

If West and Wafer can stay sane, Nate should make for attractive trade bait mid-season.

Nate is a defensive liability in about 95% of matchups. You pretty much have to side with Delonte when you consider their offensive production is fairly similar.

When i tried to decide which player is better i thought which one could be inserted into a starting five and be the most successful,Delonte won.
