I actually really like what the lakers have going on.

It comes down to what you think of Beasley, Chandler, and their bench.

For those who are going to make perceived chemistry an issue, I suppose Harrington + Beasley + QRich + TMac is a volatile mix.

As an aside, I'm not going to say anything bad about Phoenix during this press conference.  I think we're clearly the two best teams in this division, and both are title contenders.  I like the Kings better -- and I'm sure StartOrien likes the Suns better -- but I'll save the bickering and marketing for the playoffs.  I think there's a solid argument that these could be the top two teams in the conference at the end of the season.

Very classy. If only I could say the same...

Presumably, Eric Dampier is only going to be playing 20-24 minutes a night with Zach Randolph playing starter's minutes (31-35mpg) off the bench.

If That's the case, I don't see a bench role being a problem.

The trio of Steph Curry + Brandon Roy + Tyson Chandler is very impressive. I liked Beasley as a starting four in that lineup too.

A great core to build around ... but I didn't like how LA finished off their roster. Bigs who don't play defense (Bargnani, Harrington, Big Z) and don't rebound (Bargnani, Harrington). That cost them considerably in my eyes.

They would have been a second tier title contender if they hadn't of done that.

Haha.  Perhaps.  But not bad for the 4th best player on a team.

Why Celtics fans don't like Rashard:

Thanks, Who.  That's how I see it.  If it comes down to it, I think the coaching staff can sell Randolph on going up against weaker competition.

Honestly, I just looked at your roster and decided the first name I saw I'd write (Player) = Overrated, because it was the most assenine comment I could think of.

i really don't think chemistry/egos will be an issue as they are all getting playing time and have a strong coaching presence in Coach K.
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

Yeah, I'm not going to knock you for it.  If others are going to look at Sacramento's roster and focus on chemistry as the one big weakness, though, I think they need to look at other teams in the division, too.  (You could say the same thing about Toronto with Salmons + Hedo + Davis, or probably about some of the guys on the Clippers and Warriors, too.  It's an overblown concern, so long as you have a system that can meet the needs of your players.)

I love the peacefulness in the Pacific right now. I say we just start lobbing each other softballs.

It's hard to be contentious when you're enjoying the California sun.  Even if it is in Sactown.

Phoenix:  who is a better dancer, Dwight or Hedo?

It's because we are the best division and our teams are stacked!

Excellent question, Roy. And it's definitely something we've considered when drafting. Here's my thoughts: I don't think we can tell. It was last year where we really found out about Hedo's passion for dancing. With this confidence, combined with a tremendous "crew member" like Dwight could we expect Hedo to elevate his game even further?

My guess is that Dwight Howard is consistently the better dancer, though Hedo's best is better than Dwight's best.

Question for Los Angeles:
What do you think is Brandon Roy's favorite song by the Black Eyed Peas?

Randolph was put into two really bad situations early in his career.  He was put on a "JailBlazers" team that had more sex offenders on it than it did leaders, and then he had the misfortune of joining Isiah's Knicks.  The Blazers obviously felt highly enough about him to give him a 6 year, $84 million deal, which in many ways was a negative for Randolph; security isn't always a good thing for young players who haven't been shown positive role models.

Question for Sacramento:  Was Randolph "put" on that Jail Blazers team, or was Randolph a big part of why they earned that Jail Blazers nickname?

My view was always the latter.  So, to objectify this, can you find some article or website or anything that calls them the Jail Blazers before Sept 2001?
