So he's gonna be the guy that takes Daniels' minutes this season?

Hmm, it looks more like he's TA's replacement.  In which case that's a huge downgrade.

Maybe an overreaction.
I can guarantee Wafer's impact on this team won't be even close to Tony's last year.

I agree, Von Wafer seems like a fool as well... since he’s signed it seems like he’s just sitting on Twitter until 3 AM trying to get laid. IMO he shouldn’t even make the team.

Just checked. So true and so funny.  ;D I thought if you are a Professinal athlete they come to you. Whether he makes or not, Von is an afterthought right now. He won't beat out West or Q.

Let's hope Von doesn't throw his back out carrying his luggage like Michael did last season  :P

Defensively? Probably fair to say that Wafer can't beat TA in that department, but Wafer is still a better shooter than Mario West AND Tony Allen. Period. Speaking of TA, I have hard time believing Mario West can defend like TA, either, and that's the only way I see him making the team over Wafer.

I think Daniels and Delonte will be TA's replacement.  Delonte can defend SGs well, and Daniels can cover both SGs and SFs.

I think I said this before we even signed Delonte.

And so what if Wafer is a better shooter?  Tony has proved to be a more consistent offensive player than Wafer without a shot.  Combine that with Wafer's below average defense and you'd have to be a fool to take him over TA.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Now that we do have Delonte, though, it's not about Wafer vs. Tony.  It's about Delonte vs. Tony, and really, Delonte and Marquis filling Tony's role.  I think they'll be more than adequate for the task.

In terms of offensively, Wafer only got playing time in one season.  That year, he was a better offensive player than Tony has ever shown.  It's unknown whether Wafer will return to his 2009 form, but if he does, he's a significantly better offensive player than Tony.

I agree with you, Delonte's added offense will likely offset Tony's defense, I was just replying to what Tai had said.

Also, if you're gonna look at just one season, what about Tony's 06/07 season?  I'd say offensively he was pretty even with Wafer's best season (with better FG%).  And I wouldn't even say Wafer's best season is significantly better than Tony's worst.  Tony has proved he can be an average offensive player for 6 seasons.  Wafer's one season hasn't really proved anything.  If I had to bet on who's gonna play better this season I'm picking the guy with the better track record.
