  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I have no idea what's going on with Miller.  You would have thought that he'd jack up all kinds of shots on the bad teams he's been on.  I guess the big concern is 1) he's lost his aggressiveness, and 2) he has absolutely no ability to create for himself any more.  You worry that he's turned into Jason Kapono.

I think it is more him just not wanted to do it anymore. I think playing on those awful teams with no expectations and a fat contract made him kind of apathetic and complacent. I don't see anything from anyone who thinks he's lost his athleticism or ability to create his own shot. Basically most people are in the same place we are..scratching their heads and wondering what is going on.

Bottom line: If my team actually played out a regular season, and Miller was asked by his teammates (good friend, LeBron) and his coach (great communicator Alvin Gentry) to shoot when the opportunities are there, to take guys off the dribble when he thinks he can get a decent shot out of it, and to stop being gimmicky with the passes, would you bet for or against him averaging 14 ppg or more on the season?

Booooo for one response to my awesome excel skills.
I think you make a compelling case.

I'll bump you up to 60-62 wins. (I had you around 56-58)

Post season matchups could be trouble though.

I humbly thank you.

Well, you've convinced half of the Commissioner's Office.  ;)  I have you fourth in the conference.

Meh. I don't agree but there are worse things than being the 4th seed.

Who is the 1-3? Washington, Milwaukee and somehow Toronto?

No previews, but I have Atlanta winning their division.

Atlanta did a preview...they did the first preview, if I'm not mistaken.

Nobody wants to answer? If possible, I'd appreciate something better than a yay or nay.

I have no doubt that Miller could score 14 a night in an offense initiated by LeBron James.

Edit: I just saw that you plan to give him just under 30 minutes a night. So that tempers my enthusiasm. Bring him back up to 33-35, and he's a lock for 14 a night.

No previews, meaning I'm not going to give away my ballot until it's official.

Yeah, Mike Miller is fully capable of dropping 14ppg while playing on that roster under Alvin Gentry in an uptempo offense.

Oh, how many minutes did you give him? It was only 29 right? Probably closer to 12.5ppg then.

But if you upped that to 33/34 minutes he could hit 14ppg.

Link so you can see things easier
I think you can expect both Ilyasova + B.Jennings to improve their scoring efficiency heading into next season. Ilyasova will benefit greatly from playing with LeBron James.

The Von Wafer numbers are more of a best case scenario but possible if healthy.

So would the fine commentators suggest unilaterally that I up Miller's numbers, and drop Wafer's?

I was thinking 33 mins for Miller, 13 for the Wafer.

Definitely -- Miller is a far superior player than Von Wafer

No doubt.

I'd actually give some of the leftover minutes at SG to Allen, then Wafer.

I think Von's playing time should be--wait for it--wafer thin.

So here we go: new look (not a whole lot new)

Okay, so new plan RE my wings position. Mike Miller plays more on the wing, getting 33 minutes a night. Von Wafer plays just 12 minutes a night.

If Von Wafer regains his form at all, he'll get more minutes. If he shows it was just a fluke year, some of his minutes will go to TA, but more will go to Landry Fields.

I still think Wafer can hit some shots though.
