There were rumblings last week about trading Big Baby, and I would pull that trade off, straight up.  Never been a big fan of Baby.. of course, I like the big play when he's in but he just seems so immature.  Posey is all business and would give us that stopper back at the 3.

Posey in his prime would have been a perfect O'bie player.  Great D, hard worker, loves the long ball - loves it.

They'll see what he has in the tank first.  Ideal, if Pose can play a little bit, but he can negotiate a buyout, he might be someone available in February for a stretch run.  But, let's see what he has left first.  

We're not going to trade for him since we don't NEED him, and the cost is so high (especially with lux tax and his trade kicker).  Posey in his prime wasn't worth $12M or $15M per year!

The Pacers played him a lot at the four last season and usually played better with him at that position than out on the wing (due to their flawed roster rather than Danny being better suited as a four).

Starters: Collison + George + Dunleavy + Granger + Hibbert
Rotation: Backup PG + Rush + Posey + Hansbrough + Foster

and posey isn't? he wasn't much help to the hornets, gained a few lbs and got slower

i admit if hes motivated again which im sure he will if he comes back to boston...id be happy if we trade 2 players and a 2nd rounder for him...

Posey'll play PF for Indiana.  Classic O'bie 4.  They'll need him there, with Murphy gone and with Hansbrough apparently still suffering from vertigo.  Even if Granger plays some at the 4, they don't have an abundance of depth there.

If they made the same money, Posey could slide to us and fill our wing backup, while Baby could be their backup PF.  I know Baby is the youngest of our bigs, but I never saw him as a legitimate 82 game starter.  IMO, Baby is legitimate trade bait.

not too sure if Posey can fit in well with playing pf...maybe sf, and granger as pf, but the other way around is kinda bad imo

I'm hoping Posey gets bought out and signs for the vet minimum with us. I would love to have Pose back for this salary!

Posey is really quite bad now. He's just a contract, maybe a couple minutes here or there. If Boston traded for him they'd have to get another valuable chip in return, as at this point taking Posey's contract away is the favor; you have to give him with an asset to get teams to take him.

To afford it, now that Sheed is gone (still disappointed, even moreso now, because it definitely seems like Ainge could have wiggled his way into the 4 way deal that just happened), the only way to be able to take back Posey would be to package Davis with a re-signed Scal at the old 3 year but only 1 year guaranteed deal that starts at about 4.2 million or so. Now, one intriguing deal, now that Indiana is thick at the 3 spot but thin at the 4, would be Baby/Scal for Posey and Rush, if Indiana would do it.
