  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
With the 20th pick in the 7th Round the Minnesota Timberwolves select Josh Howard

How the mighty have fallen, huh?
He along with John Wall, the return of publicly conscious Arenas and an emerging McGee are why I think the Wizards will be a very dangerous 7 seed in the playoffs this year.

Isn't being a dangerous 7 seed what got them into this mess in the first place?

Ha. True, very true.

The Wizards should stop looking at the glory days when they could take the Cavs to a 6 game series and start looking at the Thunder on tips to rebuild around a start. Signing Josh Howard and keeping Arenas should not be part of the program.

Man is anyone else irrationally jealous of OKC fans? They're like a college team that's playing in the pros..there is none of that veil of cynicism that hangs all around a lot of teams (Miami first and foremost).
The difference is that was a 7 seed that was getting older or already peaked. They will continue to get better every year as Blatche, McGee and Wall develop.

They signed Josh Howard for extremely cheap considering how good he was before he got hurt and I doubt teams were exactly knocking down the Wizards door to get Arenas and his huge contract.

I think there is an excellent chance they could move Arenas this past summer for cap relief/pennies on the dollar. If they're waiting to see if Arenas has some of that olde timey magic then they want to move him, that's not a terrible idea.

I don't see how anyone can think they're going to win games with Blatche in the lineup, esp when they have a guy who knows the right way to play (aka not like a spoiled brat) in McGee.

Did Josh Howard sign a one year deal or a multi-year deal with the Wizards this summer?

An incentive laden $4 million one-year deal. He's not expected to be ready for the start of the season.

I think they will start the season out with McGee at the 5 and Blatche at the 4.
I feel like if Wall can run the team and get Arenas to take good shots the gamble on keeping him is a good one.

I have no problems with the Wizards bringing Josh Howard back for one year.

I would have liked to have seen them move Arenas though + I didn't like the Kirk Hinrich trade. They could have found better opportunities in free agency or in the trade market at a later stage.

But when has Arenas ever been known as a guy who "takes good shots"?

I'd much rather see Hinrich back there with Wall.

Nice pick.

I really do see so much of Dikembe Mutumbo's game in him. He is going to be a difference making, defensive, shot blocking, interior force in a couple years
