Apparently it costs more to move up from the 3rd to the 2nd as it does to move up a full round in the 1st. Wowza.  There's some good value being paid right now.

There's certainly a whiff of desperation in the air.

That's only if you assume the difference between a first and a second is the same as a 2nd and a third.

The Los Angeles Lakers select Stephen Curry

we were targeting westbrook but feel Curry will pair with Roy and making a great backcourt

May have been a blessing in disguise for Los Angeles, as I prefer Curry to Westbrook - particularly next to a ball-dominate two guard. Great pick.

True.  I think it's fair to say, though, that most GMs would prefer move up 30 spaces in the first round (from the second) rather than move up 20 spaces in the second round (from the third round), if the asking prices were roughly the same (i.e., a third round pick and change.)

I think that would be true if I had the 2(5) and wanted the 1(5). But to me, the difference between 1(25) and 2(25) is smaller than 2(25) to 3(25). Hence my attempts to climb the ladder today.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
We have two separate trades to announce:

Trade 1:
Minnesota (Evantime34)send 2.20, 5.20 and 12.11
to
Charlotte (Kcatthestripe) for 3.8, 3.29 and cash considerations (5 tps)

Trade 2:
Washington (Nickagneta) sends: 3.5, 3.22, 5.11, 7.11, 13.5
for
Portland (Jsaad): 2.21, 4.10, 5.22, 7.22, 12.10

Two very interested trades to compare to each other.

will listen to offers for both Bogut and Rondo. Would need to be overwhelmed to move either as I feel this is a very solid 1-2 punch!

It's with great sadness that I announce the retirement of Adonal Foyle:

After the controversy regarding his availability last year, I was certain that people would like to know.  Adjust your draft boards accordingly.

Crap, there goes my targeted 2nd rounder.

Out of respect to Adonal, I think it would be best to keep this thread locked until 4:11

Remind me after I sell my business to get a job where Faf works. What does he get like a 3 hour lunch break.

I imagine he's probably got to isolate some time to get some actual work done.
