I feel really bad for a guy who was overapid to the tune of $15 million over the last 5 years and basically contributed little or nothing to the team. Good luck Scal, as you are a good guy.

HIT THE BRICKS SCAL!

Your time in green is over. Can't feel bad for him he got his $$$ and a ring. This team needs players not towel wavers. Luke is his replacement and he has more to bring to the table and isn't a concussion away from being the next Ted Johnson. Have a great time where ever you go. It just can't be on this team.

TP for the tags!

I feel bad for him mostly cuz my buddy saw him walking out of the Newport club we were at Wednesday night desperately chasing after some tail he wasn't going to get while telling some tagalong to stop bothering him.

Ooh, that was a little low.  But hey, we've all done it before (OK, at least some of us have minus the tagalong).  I like Scal though, I do hope he finds a team.  I feel like he'd be good in Phoenix.

Are you sure it was Scal and not Michael Rapaport?  I thought Scal was a family man.

100% sure it was Scal.  6'9" dudes stick out at the club.  He was doing a signing at a sports memorabilia shop down there earlier that day too.  Didn't know he had a wife, yikes...

Seven Bigs -- KG + Perk + Jermaine + Shaq + BBD + Erden + Harangody
Five Wings -- Pierce + Ray + Daniels + Von Wafer + Player X
Three Guards -- Rondo + Nate + Bradley

The roster is full player. 15 players tied up. No space for Brian Scalabrine. Danny Ainge would have to waive either Erden or Harangody to make it work. Not sure if that is worth doing. Have to think on that.

I don't feel bad for people who are payed $15 million to play for the team I love, in a sport I love, and to have the rare opportunity of winning a championship ring.

Scal let it go, after Paul you were the longest Celtic on the team, you made a heathy 25+ million over you career, the guys I feel bad for are guys like Marcus Landry who have a family and are stuck on the D League making 30k a year. I do not see how retaining Scal would be better than signing Gody who is a better rebounder, shooter, and is faster.
I would welcome scal as a part of the coaching staff, you know Ray Ray and Scal are going to be NBA coaches some day.

I'm surprised Miami hasn't called...

He's a great locker room guy who has 4 finals appearances and a championship ring.

I'm glad it looks like he won't be back. Nothing to feel bad about. He got overpaid like crazy. Think of it. Dude is living like a king and it's not like he was busting his tail to get in shape in any off season. I mean the guy plays professional basketball and is still kinda flabby. Good god. What is his diet like?? I'm guessing it's something like the exact opposite of ray allen's.
Probably a great guy but I think he got a lot more credit than he deserved as a teammate.

Gotta agree with some of the replies on this board; while I appreciate everything Scal has done for this team, and I think he has been a grossly underrated basketball player around the NBA and even in the city of Boston, I do not in any way feel bad for him. He has lived a life that probably all of us would kill  for. He makes millions of dollars and really just gets to chill with all the Celtics players. I would love to give him a spot in the organization ala Ty Lue, but feel bad for him? That I do not. There are plenty of humans in this world to feel bad for before Scal.

I don't think we've got room for him on this team, but I wouldn't mind giving him a job on the coaching staff or in the front office.  If we've got a place for Tyronne Lue, we've got a place for Scal.

Weren't there rumors about Lue interested in possibly playing again. That would open up a spot behind the bench for Scal.

I will feel bad for Scal when i read or hear he is at his neighborhood's food bank getting food for himself and family or if he suddenly becomes homeless like many people still are,or if he is walking around with a sign that says"I will work for food", or anything close to those hardships many others in this life has/had to go through...i can never feel sorry for a person who has made the cash professional ball players make.

By the way i forgot one important one,if i heard Scal or any Celtics player was sick with something they can't get better from,i would feel bad.

I echo the general sentiment here.  The guys a multi millionaire, bright funny guy and played longer in the NBA than most could ever fantasize.  He's a good guy though and I wish him a great future, hopefully with the Celtics.
