After reading that article on the front page I am actually feelin kinda crummy about not re-signing Scal.. not sayin we should use our last spot on him, just wish we could have a 16th man :P

He obviously hasnt gotten any offers from any NBA team if he's talkin about goin overseas... too bad, he really put his heart into this team, even if he wasnt that good at what he does:P
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I don't think we've got room for him on this team, but I wouldn't mind giving him a job on the coaching staff or in the front office.  If we've got a place for Tyronne Lue, we've got a place for Scal.

I'd like to see him go back to Jersey for a year.  That's a young team that could use a guy like Scal in the locker room.  He'd had success there in the past (albeit with a completely different team).  Don't see room for him on the C's, but hate for him not to be in the League anymore.

I agree about the coaching position; however, I'm also not sold that Tony Gaffney is any better than Scal.

And I don't see Gaffney being a part of the future of this team either, so I don't think we need to worry about his "potential."

TP for the tags!

I feel bad for him mostly cuz my buddy saw him walking out of the Newport club we were at Wednesday night desperately chasing after some tail he wasn't going to get while telling some tagalong to stop bothering him.

Ooh, that was a little low.  But hey, we've all done it before (OK, at least some of us have minus the tagalong).  I like Scal though, I do hope he finds a team.  I feel like he'd be good in Phoenix.

Where is that woman that used to toot Scal's horn on here all the time?  She needs to make an appearance.

Also support this. Could be a "in case of emergency" option particularly with the age of this team & likelihood of injuries.

I don't think Gaffney will make the final roster.  Right now, we have 14 players under guaranteed contract (counting Rasheed), two on non-guaranteed deals (Gaffney and LaFayette), plus Luke Harangody.  Since the roster limit is 15, that means we're out of space (and will eventually cut Gaffney and LaFayette).

Are you sure it was Scal and not Michael Rapaport?  I thought Scal was a family man.

I think either Sims or Gaffney has an outside shot of making the team.  Maybe about a 12% chance for each.

Good article on Scal and you gotta respect his support for the team and the communities, but community service wont help this team win a championship. If we are going to sign a 15th player to the roster, I want to feel comfortable with him and have confidence in his ability to PLAY BASKETBALL... Scal doesnt do that for me. I still wish him the best of luck but unless we give him a coaching staff position, I think it is his time to move along.

I won't feel bad for him. He was well compensated to get a ring without contributing on the court. I like the guy, but his situation the past few years was like a dream for him.
