Perkins along with Sheed's contract.

In theory could we get a 10mil/yr calibre guy?

Lets just say for arguments sake that our team somehow dominates without perk and maybe erden turns out to be a good 3rd guy.

Could we package Perk with Sheeds contract to get an even better (more expensive) player.

Not trying to dis perk, i love the guy... just throwin out a hypothetical

Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Why even ponder it? Celtics aren't traded Perk. I doubt they'll even trade Big Baby

Who plays center for the Celtics once O'Neal is gone if we trade Perk?  I don't see him being traded unless we're getting a young center back.

That'd be a bad deal for the Celtics. Trading Perkins without getting a young building block for the future is major mistake.

Perkins if he comes back will help the team a lot more than Prince would, and he has a better future.

That'd be a completely awful deal for the Celtics. Trading Perkins without getting a young building block for the future is major mistake.

I agree that it wouldn't be a good trade for the C's, but the question was who couldthe C's get for Perk and Sheed, not who I would want for perk and sheed.

No team is going to give up anything of great value for a Role Player who just tore his acl,mcl and pcl. Prince would likely be the type of player you get back from a team looking to move salary .

I never said you were wrong about being able to get Prince.

The bottom line is that the Celts wouldn't get a star or even a potential star for that package.  The poster is saying that the best the Celts could do is a veteran/decent wing (assuming that is the direction the Celts wanted to go).

As usual, fans are overrating Perk, especially considering that he just suffered a bad injury.

And I broke down why I wouldn't do such a deal.

Now if we were getting a young role player who could be a fixture on the team then I would consider making such a deal. But definitely not for an old role player. Better to gamble that Perkins will return healthy for the end of the season and playoffs.

Okay.  Then the Celts are getting that for Perk and Sheed.

Someone more expensive, but not much better than if we just traded Sheed's contract.

Perkins has little to no value right now.  It makes absolutely zero sense to trade him.  He has much more value on the court, and then either sign and traded, or signed next offseason, when he is healthy again, than traded before the deadline, when he may not have even stepped on the court yet.

Prince would be the last piece of the puzzle to legitimately give the C's a good shot at the championship. Perkins, on the other hand, with Shaq and JO now on board is redundant. If it is all about winning championships, this would be an easy move to make.
