Erden in Maine doesn't effect roster situation. He would still be one of the 15 guys.

Thanks for clarifying.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

  • Rondo = Good
To be fair to Larry Hughes, he had a 20 pt 20 reb game with the Knicks last year.  Crazy, though it was with the Knicks.

No, his best game last year was 20pts, 10reb, 7 ast (basketball reference). He's 6-5, basiclly same as Daniels and Wafer. We need 6-8 sf (like Battier) or 6-6 shooter (like Rudy). I relly hope Hughes wont be a Celtic next year. But its fun...i remember the time when only FA signings Celtics could get were Frank Brickowski and Julius Nwosu...Oh the dark ages...

But he's so.. ineffective. He's always shot terrible percentages from the field. That alone is enough to turn me off on that idea.

Can we just get my former binky, Bill Walker back? It's funny. He would be an almost perfect fit for this team.. sigh.

Come on Danny, don't ruin a good offseason by going after Hughes.

Hey, I liked Brickowski's game when he was with the Bucks.  But yeah, a little past his prime when he arrived here.

Hughes is a dud, Ainge knows that.  I bet this is the work of a rumor troll and not what Danny is going after.

Yuk.  I hope this isn't true.

Hughes isn't the answer.  I'd rather go into the season with Wafer and Daniels as the backups and get a trade exception for Sheed to use at the deadline for a really decent player

I'm surprised that there are even rumors about this guy.  Get Rudy, get West, get McGrady, get Szserbiak, get anyone who can shoot.  But don't get Hughes.

Wallace will be traded at some point, freeing up at least one roster spot.

That only happens if the Celtics don't receive another player in exchange for Wallace.

I think Ainge has to hold on to Erden, because having him as a project big is his best chance at having a young, athletic 7-footer on the roster in the next couple of years.  If he shows any glimmer of improvement, another team might see him as a potential Marc Gasol-like throw-in for a trade Ainge wants to make.

hughes is a pretty terrible option as a backup wing. I think i'd rather have Wafer ahead at the depth chart. Hughes seemed to have forgotten how to shoot or defend when he left Washington.

I'd much rather have Wallace as a potential trade chip.

If Larry Hughes is a puzzle piece, I hope the puzzle is "Players who the Celts were rumored to be interested in, but passed on".

We don't need any more 6'5" guys, and we especially don't need any 6'5" guys who combine their poor jump shot with a history of attitude and injury issues.

Basically, Larry Hughes is Tony Allen without the defense.
