Does having a top 10 NBA player really give a team an inherent advantage?

Teams with Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant didn't even make the conference semi-finals last year and the team that won it all didn't have a top 40 NBA player on it? ;) :D

Didn't you make a post showing the exact opposite last year?  I thought you made a post suggesting that teams with top ten picks made up the overwhelming majority of the conference semi-finalists.

I was going to make a political joke but I figured that in poor taste. Instead, a TP for you both haha.

I might have. I don't remember. I was using Faf's idea more as a way to poke fun at the CrotorNats than anything else.

BTW, you and Edgar must be in seventh heaven seeing your CrotorNat center rotation coming to the Celtics. Hope it works out as well for the Celtics as the Boxers Wallace/Jackson combo did last year for the Bobcats!!!

Here were the draft positions of last year's Final Five:

TeamOriginal PickFirst Pick MadeOverall Finish
Orlando1st1st5th
Buffalo2nd2nd3rd (tie)
Toronto3rd7th2nd
Philadelphia4th9th3rd (tie)
Portland16th35th1st

In other words, the teams that started with the first four picks finished no lower than fifth.

(How did Portland pull off a 1st place finish starting 16th?  Synergy. ;))

I know I am.  It will be awesome to see them together, although I doubt J.O. sees much time at PF until Perk comes back (if at all).

We're both hoping that the Celts can add another member of the Nats in Delonte.  Heck, I'll take anybody from that roster outside of maybe Bibby.

I think it was every 10-15 minutes as work allowed.
