I don't care what People Say that last QRT was Fix Period end of story

+1

+2

reminds me of 2002 lakers vs kings...

21 FT vs 7 celtics? in the 4th? obviously fixed to me...if its was 14 or near that number you could say lakers were more aggressive, but 21 vs 7????

Lakers won fair and square.

KG should have had more rebounds.
Rondo should have driven more.
Ray should have hit more shots.
Paul should have locked down Artest.

kobe should have shot better than 25%
lakers should have shot better than 30%
lakers should have hit better than 60 somthing % of their freebies

both teams sucked and one got helped out by the refs...nothing fair about that

What's David Stern, Trolling not allowed

Lakers as team shot 32% from the field. And 20% from behind the arc. 10/10 that team loses. The reason Lakers won is because corrupt Refs and corrupt system. Game 7 was fixed, son. That's the truth, son. You spin however you like, GAME 7 WAS FIXED!

Don't miss with the MISSED TRAVEL on Gasol with under 4 minutes to go. If that call is made then we never have to foul Vujacic at 81-79. Instead it is 79 all laker ball but the game is tied and Kobe had been shooting like garbage. The whole fourth qtr was BS but that travel on Gasol, or up and down - whatever you want to call it, was so obvious that it's dumbfounding three referees all missed it. I mean the ball is clearly in his hands when his foot touches the ground. I HATE HOW WE LOST THAT SERIES. With the BS calls and the Perk injury it just feels like fate cheated us. Still how the Gasol travel is missed is beyond me and it changed the whole way we had to approach the game from then on.

Not to mention that they shot 20 more free throws than the C's in the entire game. The Celtics ran out of gas in the fourth, but with fair officiating the C's win another championship. Not sour grapes, just truth.
Exactly.

I am a glutton for punishment, I am watching the game 7 tape on NBAtv.  Thought maybe with a little time for reflection, I could watch it with a more objective view.  We'll see.... :'(

After reading 5 posts in this thread it still hurts, how can you manage to watch again? TP for your bravery.
Anything is possible!!!

The funny thing here is that we could end up doing a 1986 again - rolling through the regular season, expecting to see LA, but end up seeing Dallas or OKC in June 2011.

I won't be satisified until we extract revenge on LA, myself.

I recently saw that blatant travel,it wasn't even close. Watch NBA.com highlight & commentator even calls it out, confused as to what he just saw. Before that though,Pau fouled KG driving to the hoop, angle wise, there is no way that foul shouldn't be called. Later on, KG dunks, with Gasol getting there late enough to cause an and one with elbow shot to KG's neck. KG played better than I thought, rebounds aside, he deserved better from NBA refs.

Still can't force my self to watch it again:( That night should have been highlight of my summer and it all seemed to work out. No matter how badly offense looked when celtics play the D to the max they win 9/10 games.. This was that freaking one strain one and the refs had they fingers in it too.
I still believe that there is no conspiracy, just bad refs and that is sad.

In the end I worked 3pm-11pm shift at work, got hom at midnight knowing that I have to go to work at 7am next day (due to it being saturday I had 12 hr shift awaiting me... Drank few beers and at 3:15am (yeah I m in europe) the game starts.. I will never forget the pleasure of being barely awake entire shift avoiding internet, radio TV or anything that could remind me of what I just saw.
So no, I m still not ready for the analizing of the game, and I m afraid that only time that I ever could be will be night after lifting banner 18 while preparing for the marathon watching of that season (firmly believe it will be 10/11) together with 08.

Lots of homer vision here...

This game was a good example of why HCA from the regular season is critical - just look at how few of the Celtics' titles came without it.

On that Gasol travel, notice how the Celtics bench doesn't even react - in the pace of the game it's not so easy to spot. And it looks to me like there was contact against Gasol on that play from 2 celtics that could have been called.

I watched it on Tivo with two C's fans that were similarly calling "fix", and after even they agreed that after PP's three for a 9-pt lead with 4:50 left in the 3rd, the C's lost aggression and settled for jumpers, and fouled frequently as they tired. A couple of bad calls early in the 4th got the C's in the penalty early, but nothing out of the ordinary or even CLOSE to the record - which was game 2 of the '08 Finals.

You guys want to complain about a mere 2.2X ft margin? Try 3.8X the C's were given in that game - where a reserve forward shot 13 fts in 15 minutes on the court, and the entire Lakers team in 16X the minutes shot 10fts, in a 6-pt "win".

Some Celtics fans want it both ways - to be the physical, bullying defense that "makes their opponents quit", but somehow results in shooting more fts than their opponent, like in that '08 season.

Go ahead and believe it was fixed, since it obviously makes you feel better - but the unbiased don't have to agree...

What was the final nail in the coffin for the Celtics in Game 7 was the fact that they changed there entire gameplan for that one game. I understand that it is the most important game in the series since it's Game 7 but when both teams decided to increase the minutes of there starting players we were doomed.

Why did we get away from a gameplan that was working for us for the whole playoffs just for one game? I understand that the starters are, for most teams, there best players and that's why you play them more in critical situations like a Game 7 but some of the veteran guys couldn't handle the extra minutes because they were not use to it yet.

It showed in the 4th quarter cause the starters were gassed and it showed with sloppy defense and offense that the Lakers were counting on. You can blame the refs and you can blame whoever you want but in the end it was the minutes that came to be a huge factor.

I agree that the starters were gassed in the fourth quarter, b the refs were letting both teams play UNTIL the fourth quarter, when suddenly the standards changed and they started stretching for fouls on the Celtics which they had not been calling on either team.  Because the Celts were tired, the end results may or may not have been the same, but a switch was made (it seems to me, anyway).  I actually liked the way the game was called until the end.  As I have said, I think the players should decide the outcome, not the refs.  Let them play.

Another standard Celtics fan cliche', "Let them play".

Meaning, "let us blatantly hack", knock players to the ground, etc.

There were so many non-calls in that game compared with the rest of the playoffs it was crazy.

No wonder the Celtics tired, it takes a lot of energy to foul that much...

As a lifetime player, I know I prefer to leave tackling to the football field - I never appreciate being hurt on the bball court!
