I can't believe we were able to get this guy. I really expected him to get a pay raise around 4-5 mil after the 08-09 season. But I guess teams were still LeBron psyched for this past summer that they didn't want to commit salary.

IMO, we're set for every position except in the paint. Could we all agree that a Sheed for Shaq(2 year, 5mil per) make sense? I really don't see any other players available for Sheed's contract

Rondo - Nate - Bradley
Ray - Wafer
Pierce - Marquis
KG - BBD - Luke
Shaq - JO - Perk - SemihE

If that is our roster heading into next season, then I'll be super psyched and ready for the finals.

Me too.

Jon,
Good points about Tony and Nate working their way into and out of the rotation.  I was being too general in my statements.

However, some players do get stuck.  Scalabrine, Walker, Giddens, Laffayete, Gaffney, Williams and Marguis (okay he was injured)

Jon, sorry I didn't quote you.  Don't know how to put previous post info in a box.  Could someone explain to me how it's done.  Thanks

All you do is click on the "quote" box on the top right hand corner of the person's post you want to quote.  The program does everything for you.

Listen, I don't think Doc is perfect, so feel free to criticize away.  However, he has a tough job to do with all the talent on this team.  In some ways, juggling a lot of very good players is tougher than managing a team with just one superstar (like the Cavs last year).  In a tough playoff game, Rondo, Ray, Paul, and KG are all going to play 35-40 mpg, leaving very few minutes for anyone else.

I really think that is what a lot of it has to do with.  I mean how do you get more than 3-4 bench players consistent minutes?

Jon, Thanks for explaining how to quote previous post.

I hear you about the difficulty it is in finding consistent minutes for bench players.  I just feel Doc doesn't use the end of the bench as well as he could.  There were numerous games where the starters played lethargically.  I prayed he would substitute anyone who could provide an energy lift... like Scalabrine or Giddens. These guys hustle regardless of the score. (Okay, he did it with Nate in the playoffs.) Also, at the end of games he would keep starters in way after the outcome was decided.  This must have been frustrating to these players. He's not very creative when it comes to throwing surprising substutions at opposing teams.

I was 10x more excited about the Marquise Daniels signing last year, and that hasn't turned out very well so far.  I'm more excited about guys like Luke Harangody than this guy.  I guess he can play the Michael Finley role if that's what we need.

I think we are more guilty of exaggerating the potential contributions of bench players and taking too many liberties with post hoc analysis.

Regarding keeping in starters too long after games were decided -- how many games did we blow in the 4th quarter? It is easy to say it was too long when we win because he made sure we got the win and we didn't get stuck with Scalabrine coughing up the lead.

Since when does Scal provide an energy lift? That is the first time I ever heard that. And Giddens has the energy of a chicken with his head cut off. He has yet to show that he is an NBA player at all. It takes a lot of wishful thinking to criticize Doc for not playing JR.

This signing doesn't thrill me at all ... like a few others on this team, I'll believe the positives when I see them. Bradley, Gaffney, Erden, LaFayette, Daniels, Harangody, even Scalabrine and O'Neal, are all question marks in my mind. I'm not terribly pleased with our off-season so far ... I hope there's more in the works, and I hope this bench is much better than what I've seen to this point.

Post hoc analysis is all we have because Doc didn't give these guys a break once he decided not to play them.

As for Scal giving them a lift...there were too many times when the starting five were absolutely dreadful and the second team is what carried them.  What I was hoping was that during these times Doc would have put in anyone with the starting five who would at least hustle a bit. I'm not trying argue these substitutes are/were fantastic players, but they would have given a greater effort. I may be guilty of exaggerating the potential of these players, but I don't believe I'm guilty of spotting lack of energy or effort on the part of the starters.

Now here a mixtape of his time in Houston. Some of the plays are selfish but he shows the one thing I like best, speed. Its about time someone ran the break with Rondo. He also made a game winning clutch 3 against us.

Watch and enjoy.

This is a great signing. He played well against the Lakers when Houston took them 7 games a couple years ago. He's a sniper, and has pretty decent athleticism, making him more than just a gunner. But I like his fearlessness the most; taking it to the rack, taking the big shot and burying.

Time to go get Shaq, and we can start rubbing our hands together for banner 18.

Imagine if we somehow were able to get Shaq and Rudy? We really would be something to wreck with, with a unique bunch of players/schemes to run. Is that possible?

I dont see what everyone is complaining about he's only 25 years old, barely got any minutes in his first 2 years, like most guys, and did pretty well off the bench last year. If he happens to be healthy and gets even a lil better he's be a good asset to the team.

i'd rather have him than t-mac or AI

would still like to get rudy and shaq
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I can honestly say this now! All the people who despises Gerald Green, Green would have actually been a better signing for us. Gerald does everything better than Wafer and is 3 inches taller. What is Danny thinking??? Wafer has a attitude problem, he thinks he is better than he is, and is selfish offensively and defensively and plays when he wants to. I absolutely hate this Signing UGHHHH! If Danny wanted potential locker room cancers we coulda just signed back Delonte or took a High Reward flyer on Rashad McCants.
