I have always discounted the first five. They werent won in LA. You dont here Baltimore Ravens fans bragging about the Cleveland Browns championships.
Or The Atlanta Braves bragging about the Mil. Braves World Series. Or the Thunder bragging about the Supersonics title.
Then why are the majority of threads about Celtics v. Lakers on this forum so concerned about the fact that they're only one away now? 17-11 =/= 1...
I think this is bunk. What about the Raiders? Colts? Both won championships in two cities. Both recognize them all.
The LOS ANGELES Lakers have 11. The MINNEAPOLIS Lakers have 5. So if you're going to make those 16 championship ****ing tshirts, you've got to say MINNEAPOLIS/LOS ANGELES. Take a hint from the Lakers Franchise when you go to the Staples Center Downtown (or does the bandwagon stop in Hollywood?) and you only see 11 banners hanging in the arena.
It's because those other 5 belong to the people of MINNESOTA who the Lakers Franchise won them 50 god**** years ago! Teams win championship for cities and the fanbase of those cities, that's the whole point of sports! You don't see the people of MINNESOTA celebrating when the Lakers win because that franchise now belongs to the city of LOS ANGELES. Hence why teams belong to cities in the first place!!
I've given this god**** example a zillion times and this is the last time I make it. People of Los Angeles, how would you like it if next year the Lakers moved to Las Vegas and won it all for the Franchises' 17th championship and some ***hole from Las Vegas comes up to you and says, "That's 17 *****! We have 17 ****ing NBA championships! We are the New York Yankees of ****ing basketball!!"?
Would that make sense to you? If you saw "LAS VEGAS LAKERS: 17 CHAMPIONSHIPS" tshirts and their ****ty fanbase was walking around thrusting their chests out like a bunch of god**** stupid apes? Cause that's you!
The people of Boston have celebrated all 17 times their team has won. How many times have the people of Los Angeles thrown rocks through windows and looted and burned down the city of Los Angeles?
So stop padding your ****ing resume like all you phony ****s do. You're a ****ing PA but by the time you've finished typing up your resume you ****ing directed the movie.
It's the reason why there is just no way to respect LOS ANGELES Lakers fans.
